Creating the Authentic Self

When writing this book, I was not sure if it would make it to completion, if it could be held or read by any but myself.

Is it selfish or is it transparency? The answer to this question will be the answer to if these words make it into a finished book. I mention before each section that this book is made to help myself primarily, and hopefully others if it can.

If you are a reader who can hold this book in your hand then it is proof that you don't have to be confident in your ability to complete a goal, you just have to be willing to take the small steps daily.

I do not have to feel confident that the book will be published. I do not have to be confident that it will sell because the world will want to hear, the what, the who, and, the how of becoming the Elijah the world knows.

Just writing is enough of a step for now. Writing now is the only evidence at this time of what I could accomplish in the future. Each page I write the more confidence I get.

The more pages I write, the less chance I have to not follow through. Soon it will be closer to a finished book, than something to easily give up on.

If I wish for you to be changed and motivated by this book, then let's start with me. Let me be the first to be changed and to be motivated. I will go through the process, I will take the journey and become more.

I write this page with local schools and students, knowing about my writing and my work, and I'd like to say I am known by the Colorado/Wyoming optimist clubs.

My commitment to you is a dedication to improvement. I will grow, I will change, and by the time you hold this book, my influence will be large enough that you will gladly buy, read, and be changed and motivated by this book.

Now that you are reading this book, make a commitment to yourself for improvement. The world doesn't matter, all that matters is how do you compare to where you were this time last year. Let's just improve ourselves and leave the pressures behind.

I would like to say that I have been on the self-development path since 18, being on and off like a complicated relationship. Everything ebbs and flows and to be honest most of my time was spent being consistent and congruent. Meaning I did the right things over and over and over again. Day in and Day out just like I had learned.

That is the reason why I believe this book is for anyone.

If you are up actively working towards your goals every day then this book is for you, as I was up actively working towards my goals while writing this book.

If you are reading here and there but partying more often then this book is for you, as I was partying too much while I was writing this book.

If you are broke, sleeping in your car spending your only cash on a temporary escape then this book is for you, as I was sleeping in my car as I was writing this book.

If you are on probation then this book is for you, as I was writing this book while I was on probation.

If you have your head up your ass, if you are committing crimes, abusing substances, sitting in a jail cell, wasting opportunities, or partying like a degenerate then this book is for you, as I was writing this book during all of the above.

This book is a chance for anyone to come along with me, through my ups downs, through the positive and negative, all to realize something very freeing. You, like me, like all of us are on a journey, we all live in a world full of night and day, hot and cold, wet and dry.

If you are going to get anything out of this book, then you must embrace the truth that you live in a world that is always changing, and you are always changing.

We can either change for the better or change for the worse, we change a lot or we can change a little. Seasons come and go just to give way to new seasons, only to have the same season return again.

Movies, books, TV shows, comics, are all very different. So many characters, so many plots so many settings.

Take every movie, take any movie, some movies the main character gets the girl, in some movies the main character loses the girl. In some films, the main characters do both.
