Brain, Heart & Gut

The Story Of The Brain, Heart and Gut

By Khushali BhattPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

It is said that the body is made up of three minds – the brain, the heart and the gut and on any given day each of them will have their own way of communicating with you. It will depend on what situation, situation or crisis you are facing at that time or on a particular day.

I have often let those three minds run my life; A little more than I should be most of the time. When I faced a crisis, I never followed my mind or my gut. I'll shoot straight to the heart and let it guide me on what to do in that moment. I can be a very emotional person at times (I've gotten better) and I've always let my heart's feelings speak. I was a person who generally did what my feelings told me and reacted according to what I felt. I've had many good relationships because of this behavior (no need to say that the other party wasn't at fault, but I can only speak for myself), I lost some jobs because of letting go of my heart's feelings Also found Because it made me unstable, erratic, and unreliable.

"When the hearts emotions and the minds erratic thinking collide; it can be a bomb waiting to happen!"

I was recently given a life changing decision. After asking many questions and going back and forth should I take it or leave it. The person finally said to me, "Trust it with all your heart" but because I wanted this opportunity so badly, my mind was screaming "YES!!" Take it, this will be a great opportunity for you. My passionate heart said, "Think about the difference you can make in other people's lives." While my mind and heart were in utopia; Scheduling the time for each dance, singing and event to happen.

My gut was also responding with its opinion and telling me the truth as to what the situation really was; It simply said, "No! You can't do that now." It was trying to pull my heart and mind together to see the bigger picture. Was I really ready? Can I possibly do what I am being asked to do and do everything else at the same time? After quieting my heart and mind, I began to see the bigger picture that my conscience was presenting and so I decided that this opportunity was great. Now is not the time to go into its depth. You see, when it comes to your heart, gut and mind. You have to go with the person who is talking about peace in the present situation. It appears to calm the nerves that take different routes between your brain and heart.

Your Heart

The heart is the center of our lives. It is the emotional driving force behind why we do what we do, say what we say and love as much as possible, despite how we are treated most of the time. It intensely pumps our blood stream and gets bigger and stronger. However, the heart can make us blind. It is a way of concealing the truth and allowing us to see only the surface of matter. The heart is controlled by emotions to a large extent and we generally approach situations and circumstances without thinking. They say love is blind and that is absolutely true when it comes to the real issues of our hearts. It closes your eyes and allows you to see what your brain leads you to see.

Your Gut

When people think of the gut, the first thing that comes to mind is food; In which in most cases the intestine is continuously filled more than twice a day. We feed our stomach with lots of sweets and delicious food and wait for it to digest so that we can feed it some more. But we don't give the gut the credit it really deserves. It is not just a place to bury food, but a place that tells us the real truth of any matter. The main thing is to take the time to listen to it.

I'm sure you've heard the saying "food for thought". In the same way we should look to our inner self, where we feed it with true thoughts. The intense emotion you feel when you are faced with a situation, question or situation is your courage's way of manifesting what you really need to do. We fail to hear it because we see it as a food disposal rather than a directed source, but it is the first trend we should pay attention to as well.
