Affirmations: What You Should Know About These Statements

Since we did not come to this planet with a manual on our brain, body or even that of living life on planet earth with other supposed human beings, let alone the wild life we share the earth with, many people are interested in learning all that they can about their minds and how it operates, they want to learn from anything that addresses the mental and emotional aspects of a person because they know both are a great foundation to begin with to help initiate positive change in their life, since our thoughts and our emotions influence our lives and our health in so many ways. When we are first starting out on our journey of nourishing our minds with healthy thoughts, there are a few tricks that we can learn to make the journey a little easier and quicker.
The first step is Clarity: What is it that you want to accomplish, and Why?
When you are clear on your why’s for your particular desire, then you have more power behind you to help fuel your statements that will positively affirm what you want. You are ready to create an affirmation that will be most effective in the least amount of Divine timing. When we are clear on our MOTIVATION, something that means a lot to us, then we can stay on track more easily with the goal of saying our affirmations regularly… Because the key here is remembering to do your practice AND fueling your practice with POSITIVE EMOTIONAL ENERGY.
Creating a positive affirmation that will work for you and not sabotage your efforts, takes just a little bit of skill and common sense. So this article has been created to help someone be able to quickly and effectively create a phrase that will serve their highest good and work for them, and to help you understand why it will work best.
The prevalent nature of our existence here on earth has many of us thinking in ways that are negative and depletive, based upon some of our experiences as a child. To succeed in life we must get to a point of awareness first - of our predominant thoughts and how they may be working against us.
After this, then we need to create some thoughts that will replace the negative ones. As you “delete", “cancel” or “erase”, the undesirable thoughts, then you want to download or upload some positive, beneficial thoughts. The key is to be persistent. I heard one teacher describe it as taking a new shiny nail and hitting it over top an old rusty, undesirable nail. You just keep hitting on it, until that new one completely knocks out the old nail and replaces it.
Keep in mind however, if the new program you run is not created in a way that your conscious mind will accept it and protect it, it is like making yourself vulnerable to catch some horrible self-defeating, doubt-filled virus that will come and create a big mess instead of allowing a new desirable habit or pattern to become prominent. The new program must be able to get past the conscious mind’s scrutiny and make its way into the subconscious mind. This is where you want your positive affirmations to go.
How do we do this? We do this by adding a few words to the beginning of your affirmation, which makes it MORE acceptable, believable, and agreeable to the conscious mind, and then speaking these positive affirmations to ourselves in a mirror ideally, or in our meditation times.
If you are actually 450 lbs., and say in your positive affirmation; “I am 145 pounds and wear a size 14”, or if you are trying to stop smoking, and say as your positive affirmation: “I am free of the desire to smoke cigarettes”, it will take more time, effort, and struggles to actually convince yourself that this is true, when in your current reality it simply is not. Your conscious mind will not let that non-realistic data get past it too quickly because it is thinking “what kind of B***S*** is this?!”
Five Simple Expressions to Add
Incorporating these simple, but powerful few words can change the meaning of what you are saying to one that is understandable as real, because you are letting your body and subconscious mind know what you are now working on and intending to accomplish. Once you say it enough your mind takes you seriously and begins to assist you to accomplish the goal, in ways that you may not be able to imagine at this time! “I INTEND” or “I CHOOSE” along with “I AM”, “I HAVE” and “NOW”. Adding these expressions can prove to be more effective when applied as outlined below;
• “I Intend that I Am (xyz) Now”
• “I Intend that I Have (xyz) Now”
• “I Choose Now (xyz)
So, you will want to say something like: “I intend, that I am, free of the desire to smoke cigarettes, now” … or “I intend, that I am, a healthy 145 pounds and wearing a size 14, now”. Do you see what is happening here? For affirmations that reflect on issues that you see and feel the total opposite of daily, you may do best by gently introducing a new truth concept into your mind’s space that is more acceptable as a truth at that time.
More Examples
• “I Intend That I Am Enough, Right Here, Right Now”
• “I Intend That I Have Financial Freedom Enough to Help Self, Family, Friends and More, Now”
• “I Choose Now Great Health, Great Wealth and Great Relationships”
***EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE***
When you are committed enough to listening to pre-recorded audios that have positive affirmations in them, designed to reprogram the mind through regular REPITITION, then the fact that you are hearing these messages over and over will in itself seep into your sub-conscious mind regardless as to whether the five above phrases were included or not. And remember, the same effect is achieved when you are listening to negative messages as well!!! So be mindful of what you listen to all day or every day.
Keep Your Affirmations in The Present Tense
Always create affirmations that are present tense statements. Avoid words such as “to be” “will be” because they are future tense expressions. Keep it present tense; “I intend that I have $300 earnings daily, from expected and unexpected sources, now”.
Avoid words such as “need”, because this expresses to the Universe and your subconscious mind that you do not have that something that you are attempting to affirm into beingness, and it is likely to keep you in that state of “needing” something instead of affirming that you have it.
Express Gratitude as If, It Is Indeed, A Done Deal
Now that you have an idea as to how to create your affirmations that are positive in nature, accept in trust that it is a done deal, and give thanks. You say thanks because you are developing faith and trust in this process that has worked for many others; and saying thanks also helps your psyche see that you are seriously taking this matter to heart, you know that it is now working itself into existence.
Final But Not Least
Raising Your Vibration Method One:
After you have designed the affirmations that suit your needs, the most important next ingredient is EMOTION and VISUALIZING or SENSING. This is where it takes some effort on your part. You must add some fuel to your rocket ship of affirmations, so they can take off with a full blast of energy and return to you manifested! First imagine what you would be doing when your dream is manifested, see yourself in a related scene. If you cannot visualize yet, then use your SENSE of how you will feel when this is manifested. Then FEEL the joy and happiness that this brings you; all the things you could knock off your “to-do” list.
Raising Your Vibration Method Two:
After designing your affirmation, an alternative to the above method of raising your frequency to a higher one that helps attract what you are aiming for, is called anchoring. You will anchor in a higher emotion such as JOY or LOVE. So go back in time and recall something that happened in your life once that brought you so much happiness and joy. It could be anything, if it brings a smile to your face and/or joy to your heart when you think about that scene. Then feel into that memory and sit with that joyful feeling right after you say your affirmations and “Thank You”.
Make This Your Next Habit
Take these steps and make them YOURS…make it your next habit, your daily PRACTICE. Take it seriously and just do it. When the timing is right, your manifestations will be self-evident. Keep open to new doors and opportunities that begin coming your way, as they will likely be leading you to your desire.
Now that you have created some powerful affirmations for yourself, you will want to repeat these to yourself at least three times a day, while looking in the mirror, for 21 days or more. Be sure to do them before you fall asleep; this is an incredibly special time for affirmations to be able to sink into your subconscious mind. Remember to affirm, give thanks, and sit in revelry for a few seconds or more each time you practice.
SUMMARY
When we want to create an acceptable to the mind, positive statement that we will say to ourselves every day… a statement that affirms our goals, we make the statement reflect a present tense reality by also including more acceptable phrases, such as:
1. I Intend
2. I Choose
3. I Am
4. I Have
5. Now
(the five phrases listed above), then we give thanks for it happening – as if it already has, and we anchor in a feeling of joy and happiness in one of two ways (as explained above).
• "Thank You!"
• Anchor in that positive & attracting frequency with a joyful feeling because that feel good energy, when laser focused has a powerful attraction factor.
These rules do not always or necessarily apply to recordings or a live hypnosis session that we will listen to repeatedly for a sufficient amount of time, because anything that we hear over and over again, will very likely become a part of our reality and belief system anyway!
I have added some vital steps for anyone who is interested in applying this practice to their lifestyle, to have enough to work with in terms of manifesting what they want intentionally. If that is you, my intention is that you have success in creating and using positive affirmations now.
And one more thing… positive affirmations are designed to be just that – A positive statement affirming a POSITIVE outcome we desire, and if this POSITIVE desire is in alignment with what is in your highest good and best interest, then you will surely manifest it when applying these few simple steps. The timing depends on several factors; so, just stay positive and watch the magic happen when the timing is right.
