Glow can be a very broad term with different meanings, but the same concept. As stated online and in dictionaries, Glow means " 1. To give out steady light without flame. 2.Have an intense color, light and shine. 3. Have a heightened color or bloom on skin as a result of warmth or health. 4. Feel deep pleasure or satisfaction and convey it through one's expression and bearing. Many people would take glowing as a compliment on their outer appearance, but the truth is, anyone can be outwardly beautiful, and as we age, sometimes our glow starts to fade. As Maya Angelou stated " Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." These truths only bring us back to our real question, what does it mean to glow from within? Not only this, but what are some ways that I glow from within as an individual?

One of the ways I glow from within, is staying away from stress. I exercise and listen to music on a daily basis. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is stretch. Stretching first thing in the morning gets rid of any pain or tension in your body. It's a good way to get me going for the morning and prepare me for my daily activities. Its also a good way to maintain flexibility if you have problems in any area. This also increases the mobility of your joints and increases blood flow. Increasing blood flow also prevents the risk of health conditions such as stroke. I stretch for 10 minutes, then I do exercises that increase muscle mass for 30 minutes, while listening to music. Listening to music keeps me motivated, it keeps me happy and alive. It's also another good way to keep away negative thoughts and energy which prevent stress. After this, I take a 10 minute rest and get ready to eat breakfast. The breakfast consist of all the carbs and proteins that I need to keep a healthy weight and body. Some of the things I eat for breakfast are eggs with Spanish. Eggs are one source of protein. I also eat potatoes and oatmeal, and sometimes I eat meat.

Secondly, I drink water. Drinking water is essential to the human body. We are made up 75% of water. On average a human being should at least have 8 glasses of water each day. As the saying goes, what goes in you comes out of you. If we don't drink lots of water, it starts to become obvious. It becomes obvious in your hair, because your hair stops growing as fast. Likewise, some of the naturally occurring oils in your hair are not being produced efficiently enough. Your bowel movements aren't regular. You start to get constipated more often. Although, this is not the case for some people. I understand that some are lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerant simply means you cannot break down the sugar or another substance inside of milk. Therefore, people who are lactose intolerant and drink or eat dairy product may have problems with constipation or loads of cramps. Also not drinking water increases the like hood of developing Alzheimer's at an early age.

Lastly, I inspire, motivate and entertain people I know. When I was in kindergarten I would get bullied because of my intelligence. On top of being picked on for my intelligence and going through depression, my dad wasn't the best. He was violent towards my mom until they separated. As a result I started to close up not speak less, and it made it harder for me to make friends growing up because of the fear of being rejected or made fun of for just being me. Freshman year of high school is when I really started to finally make friends because I had opened back up a bit more and be myself. I had made 3 friends already in the beginning, and there was this one day day we were all talking to each other in the hallway after lunch. Somehow everyone got to the topic of talking about their past, and it wasn't until then that I realized how many people actually had situations similar to mine or worse. Ever since then I started to encourage my friends, and I would speak not only from my heart but from mind and experience. I send a brief message whether it was through text or in person. Sometimes my friends would be so encouraged or inspired that they would start crying. . No matter what I was going through that day I would greet them with a smile and positive energy. All my friends loved being around me, and I started making more friends because of this. Knowing this, I'll take a quick moment to redefine what it means to glow from within. To Glow from within is the ability to persevere or overcome any obstacle, to stay positive with good energy no matter what. To glow from within is a gift that not everyone has but almost everyone has, because unfortunately the sad truth is, not everyone is able to obtain this gift. There's a difference between having the gift and the overshadowing. When you have the gift of glowing from within, it is apparent. Everyone can see it.

As everyone can see, to glow from within requires a lot of strength and growth mindset. It's not only a natural thing, but a spiritual thing also. Unlike the inner glow, a persons outer glow never dies down, no one can kill persons inner glow, it is forever. Your inner glow shows who you really are. The next time someone tells you, you glow from within, say thankyou. It is a great honor. Ask them in what ways. This is my story, now what will yours be?
