A Creative Therapy
Peace of mind and clarity through words.

This is my very first post on Vocal, so bear with me as I get used to things on here. Just thought I might add this as I go writing this little entry.
For as long as I can remember, poetry and literature have both always held a special place in my heart - it truly was love at first sight.
It gave me comfort on the coldest of winter nights and the brightest of summer days. Things were a lot simpler back then. It genuinely brought a sense of nostalgia and joy.
The inspiration is not there as much as it once was, and that is a little bittersweet. We can't always be creatively inspired, nor can we force it either.
Hope is still there, and I haven't given up on my love for writing yet.
To have an outlet is important, especially if you have a difficult time opening up to friends and family like me.
Always found it easier to express myself through words on paper, I have more pens and notepads on my desk than I would like to admit.
So whether you write, paint, draw or just write lists - do what makes you happy.
As we're nearing the end of 2021, it's that time of year to make resolutions and hopefully stick to them more consistently. And I'm saying that from personal experience, trust me.
In the next few posts or so (depending on how many I write before the end of the year) I'll be sure to include my list and perhaps you could share a few of your resolutions for 2022 with me.
Hard to believe December is just around the corner, the last year and a half has been an interesting, bittersweet journey for most of us. But, that being said, it has definitely been a time of reflection and appreciating the time we get to spend with loved ones and beloved friends.
Life is a precious thing, and so is time. When I look back on certain life events, the objective is always to learn and evolve as a human being.
To become the best version of yourself, it's not always a straightforward process. At times, there's healing, growth and inner strength to build up and carry through life.
It's not always easy, and not always difficult. Trying to find a balance between it all is key. To attain such proportions and keep them consistent in the long run is a bit easier said than done.
Honestly, I'm still learning from my past and present self, whilst preparing for the future one that is in progress, as good as one can, to put it simply.
Despite the rollercoaster experience that is the human experience, keeping my hope in tact is important. It's both fragile and resilient at the same time.
When I think of hope, I think of my late grandmother. She was truly a beacon of light in my world. One of the most inspiring women I had ever known.
Excuse me if I seem to be rambling ever so slightly, I'm honestly not used to writing lengthy posts such as this. Which is funny, considering how much I could type in a single day years ago.
I've always found it very therapeutic to type on a keyboard or write with a pen on a piece of paper or a simple notepad.
Little things like that are simplistic, but bring a sense of joy and gratitude to my life in the midst of any stress and unwanted anxiety, peace of mind and clarity through words. A creative therapy, at least for me.
