You could feel as though you never see daylight anymore because of the dark mornings and evenings. You're not the only one who finds it difficult to get out of bed in the mornings and has your routine disrupted. We receive less sunshine and vitamin D due to the change in daylight hours. It might be difficult to feel motivated in the winter because vitamin D is linked to brain function and a lack of it can cause weariness and a bad mood.

1. Don’t snooze

You may wake up in a bad mood if you ignore your alarm and don't get up right away. Sleep interruptions every five to ten minutes are more harmful than helpful. Try to position your alarm on the opposite side of the room so that you must get out of bed to silence it.

2. Exercise

Stretching and exercise have been shown to produce the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin, which aid to elevate mood and enhance long-term memory. So exercising in the morning is a healthy method to increase your energy and happiness. For some motivation, read Richard Warren's blog post on his best winter running advice, which is written as the leader of our run group.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast

A well-rounded breakfast will help you get out of bed and will give you energy to last until lunch. Skipping breakfast can make you irritated and lackluster in your thinking. Oranges or grapefruit in the morning can offer you a boost in energy if you don't have time to grab a good breakfast before you leave. Citrus is known to give an energy boost.

4. List the tasks you want to complete

Make a list of the tasks you want to complete each day. It's easy to become sidetracked or forget the things you want to accomplish, but by keeping your list close at hand, you can always refer to it to remind yourself of your objectives. You'll become more driven as you check things off the list.

5. Music

Your mood might be lifted by listening to your favorite music first thing in the morning. Dopamine, a neurotransmitter that helps elevate mood and give you more energy in the morning, is released when you listen to music. Dopamine is released when you listen to your favorite music, but it also enhances the endothelial function of your blood vessels, lowering your risk of heart disease.

6. Drink water

As a result of the significant dehydration your body experiences while you sleep, you awaken feeling worn out. Drinking a glass of as soon as you wake up will help you feel energized and ready for the day. The best advice is to have a bottle or glass of water next to your bed so that it is available for you when you wake up.

7. Right away, turn on your light

Make sure to turn on your lights when you wake up because doing so will help your body wake up much faster than if you wake up and leave your lights out for a while. Your eyes' light receptors inform your brain that it is daytime, which will help you wake up more quickly.

8. Change your approach

The monotonous state of routine can quickly set in. As a result of doing the same thing every day, your motivation may suffer. Try something new from the menu, try a new coffee shop, or perhaps take a different route to work. Your energy will be boosted and your motivation will increase as a result of minor actions that serve to add diversity to your life.
