“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” — Brené Brown

While looking around, we observe that most people are moving fast in their lives, trying to achieve genuine happiness and peace of mind but fail to get.

Why?

It might be because of a lack of self-love and self-care. Let’s discuss some essential self-care lessons that you should never forget in life to maintain your sanity and wellbeing.

In this article, I would like to share six key lessons you might have forgotten about your self-care that is been the important habits of highly self-aware people.

1.Give yourself time to relax

Most of us have lost ourselves in the busy and hectic routine. Proper rest is paramount to get the body and mind recharged. It is suggested to take 8 hours of sleep daily but sleep time also matters the most as irregular sleep pattern is harmful.

Instead of taking a sleeping pill, you could try some sleeping meditation music and sleep peacefully. When I had sleeping issues, I tried this way, and it helped me a lot. Also, never use your mobile phone before one hour of your bedtime. If you want to do something before sleep, do read a physical book or listen to music or meditate.

2.Spend time with good friends

Good friends are like a blessing because spending quality time with them is nothing less than psychological therapy. Sometimes you may feel that you left with no time for your friends but do not fall into the trap. Small treats and casual meet-ups with them will elevate your mood for sure.

Human connection is essential for our inner being, and it is necessary to meet our friends whenever possible and spend some quality time with them.

3.Make space for new ideas

Life always gives some good and bad experiences, but what you learn from these lessons matters. If you shape your mind to think positively, it will lead you towards success. Remember, sometimes, tweaks in life are significant to get more wisdom.

Have a writing habit every day, and write down your thoughts in a journal. You never know when those random thoughts are transforming into an invaluable idea. It has been one of my practice, and I could get more and more fantastic ideas out of my random thoughts. Give a try, and it is fun and useful.

It is one of the important habits of highly self-aware people.

4.Do little tasks that make you happy

Itis imperative to prioritize the things that make you joyful in the right way. If you are fond of reading, gardening, or decorating, go for it. Daily exercise is another way to keep the body fit and your mind refreshed.

Tidy up your bookshelves, clean up your shoe rack, or comb your pet. It might look like a little task, but these tasks give instant energy swiftly in our minds and souls. I like the Zen way of living, and doing these small tasks has given me immense peacefulness to my mind and heart. You will become a better thinker too. Do it with a full heart, and you will enjoy every bit of it.

5.Meditation for five minutes

Ihave been writing more and more about meditation for a while. It is because the benefits of meditation cannot be written in a one-pager. Meditation is the base for all, and it is the foundation for our life. If you cannot spend more time or cannot sit in a place for more time, just start five minutes a day. Please do it for 21 days without a break.

Your depression, anxiety, mood swings will go away for sure.

6.Think good about yourself

Commonly, we do not embrace ourselves as who we are. We keep on comparing ourselves with others and lose our uniqueness while doing so. Always think and speak positively about yourself. It’s one of the significant factors of self-care that we ignore most of the time.

Having positive self-talk in the morning can change the tone of your entire day. It will give you more energy, and you will start appreciating others, start helping more people and enjoy the simple things in life. It is what your self needed the most, so don’t let yourself down by talking something negative about yourself.

Final Thoughts

I hope these six self-care lessons will help you re-discover the “real” you, and you can see the changes in your life if you remember all these lessons.

I wish you a blessing month ahead with loads of love and joy. 😊
