5 Steps to Getting Unstuck
And Creating an Unlimited life

To establish true self esteem we must concentrate on our successes and forget about the failures and the negatives in our lives. --Denis Waitley
If you've been feeling stuck in some part of your life, whether it's personal or professional, it's time to think about where your focus lies.
If the center of your attention is how bad things are, how you're unappreciated or how you've been wronged, then it's likely that you're going to find yourself in similar situations in the future. But, if you focus on opportunities, then what is likely to show up in your life is the myriad of ways there are to express and grow yourself.
The truth is there are numerous opportunities to share, express, be active, have fun, make friends, start a new career, volunteer or do anything else that interests you. As Albert Einstein said: "You are only limited by your imagination.”
So, how have you been limiting yourself? Is it time to imagine a more exhilarating life?
Let me give you an example: A young man who held a high position at Microsoft was hiking through Peru on vacation when he came upon a school filled with children who were eager to learn – but they had no books. He felt drawn to help them and he began getting friends to supply books. His determination grew and he started a charity to help children in poor areas get the educational tools they needed. He LOVED helping them and it became a new career for him.
What this young man discovered is what others have found: We are happiest when we are giving. Don't believe it? Try it.
Start by being open to the possibilities that are all around you. If you feel safe in your little comfort-cocoon and don’t want to change, don’t be shocked if you feel stuck and uninspired. Keep in mind that you don’t expand when you hang on to the status quo. Even if you don't like change and it makes you uncomfortable, remember that life is changing all the time, so you might as well learn to accept it.
One way to make that a bit easier is to think of life as an adventure. Every time you confront a new experience or a new person, ask yourself: "What can I learn from this?" Think about how it can help you to grow your skills and knowledge – and how it can be fun! Embrace it for the opportunity it is.
If you're still feeling stuck in some part of your life, here are some steps to get you moving:
1. Make a list of all your talents and abilities. Think about everything where you've shown some ability, whether it's baking cookies, connecting with others or selling an idea.
2. Think of new possibilities. You know that list you just made of your talents? Put it aside. Now, open yourself to greater possibilities that can put your amazing talents to work in interesting, unique ways – ways that you would never have considered.
3. Open the door. Sit in a quiet place without distractions and pretend a door is opening to a vast energy. You can imagine this door at your heart or your forehead (third eye). You are opening to pure potential and limitless possibilities. To do this, pretend you are an astronaut in space – no tethers tie you to anything. Stay in space until you feel stabilized and grounded. You are now creating mental space for new potentials to enter your life; you are allowing spirit to take over and provide inspiration. If you do this over and over and until you have fully relaxed, your next step will be revealed. This next step might be anything, like meeting someone new, taking a class, joining a meetup group, relocating, reconnecting with an old friend or applying for a new job.
4. Visualize. Think of an activity that would be fun to call work. Recognize that this activity is your true expression and it will generate wages/income. Don't concern yourself with how or when it will manifest itself. Ignore the details. Just enter this imaginary picture and feel the excitement and fun. Twice a day, do this for five minutes. Each time you visualize, you intensify and densify the energy in your new path. Have fun! Don’t concern yourself with when, where or who. That is the universe’s job, not yours.
5. Give thanks and let go. Once you've done the steps listed above, get on with your day. Keep your mind clear by enjoying your present work, which means no negative energy like complaining or blaming. (It gets in the way by creating a new picture, which overrides your visualized idea.)
Do these steps every day. If you are clear in your intention, opportunities are revealed. If you are urged to put your application in at a particular place, do it! If you feel pulled to do something you have never done before, good! Pay attention and you will be guided. Follow without question or hesitation.
With just a little willingness on your part, miracles happen. Stay focused and have fun!
