5 Highly Successful People Mindsets That Are Learnable.

The world's achievers differ from the rest of us in five (learnable) attitudes, which we have found.

Have you ever pondered the paths taken by extremely great individuals like Muhammad Ali, Richard Branson, or Bill Gates? Yes, I have. I've always been curious about what makes successful people tick.

My poor academic performance was probably the source of this. Things only started to change for me once I realized and began putting into practice what I had learned from competitive sports, biographies, and books by Stephen R. Covey and Tony Robbins.

Since I came close to failing out of school 25 years ago, a lot has transpired. In my own personal development path, I've studied hundreds of books on the subject, earned three degrees in psychology, and learned by trial and error.

In my capacity as a psychologist, I have evaluated and treated everyone from seasoned criminals to stressed-out businessmen. To assist people reach their full potential on a personal and professional level, I currently work with athletes, business leaders, academics, and athletes.

1. People that are successful realize that hardships will come their way time and time again.

For people who achieve great things, difficult times are standard fare. They don't argue or moan about it since they are aware of how the world operates. There is no learning or growth without adversity and failure. They understand that nothing worthwhile is ever accomplished without effort. They are aware that struggling is not the same as suffering.

Pain is unavoidable, the Dalai Lama declared. The option to suffer exists. Since they are living their lives and pursuing goals that are consistent with who they are, what they value, and what they perceive to be their purpose or mission, successful people struggle and experience pain, but they do not suffer. It's worth it to them.

2. People who are successful are confident In and at peace with themselves.

They are aware of their advantages and disadvantages. They work with or around what is provided to them and accept themselves for who they are.

Consider individuals like J.K. Rowling or Bill Gates. They recognize and embrace their introverted nature. They don't strive to be anything they aren't. We probably wouldn't be reaping the rewards of their labors today if they had spent their entire lives struggling with their introversion.

3. People that are successful develop goals that are in line with their personality, values, interests, strengths, abilities, mission, and purpose.

Not on their current inclinations, dispositions, or circumstances. Mother Teresa, Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, Oskar Schindler, and Martin Luther King Jr. all lived their lives in accordance with who they truly were, what they valued, what they were good at, and what they understood to be their mission. For choosing their course, some of them paid a high price. But I doubt that any of them would have preferred something else. "He who has a why to live can suffer virtually any how," as Friedrich Nietzsche famously put it.

4. People who are successful are aware that they have much more control over the course of their lives than most people do.

They are aware that they can only control themselves even though they are in control of their ship. They recognize and accept that while they have no control over the problems life throws their way, they do have control over how they choose to respond to them. They are aware that they can plan ahead and take action before the outside world does. They are conscious of the fact that if they keep moving forward, they will eventually arrive.

5. Successful people are aware that after reaching one goal, they will find another.

As a result, they embrace and relish the difficulty because they understand that the journey itself is the goal.

Start with these five suggestions to develop these teachable mindsets:

a) Find out as much as you can about who you are.

Find out more about your values, personality, hobbies, and strengths. I offer advice for understanding your personality and using that to achieve more in life in my new book, ACHIEVE: Find Out Who You Are, What You Really Want, And How To Make It Happen.

b) Take sensible actions.

Making decisions, big and little, should be based on what matters most to you and what you want to achieve, not what the circumstances or your mood urge you to do.

c) Go ahead and do what you can.

In order to control anything, you must first control yourself. Never let life make you a victim. Act now before life takes action against you by moving forward.

d) Reframe failures and failures.

They can make you better or worse depending on how you interpret them. Take the opportunity to learn from failures and become better.

) Spend your time sparingly.

Be careful to choose activities that are worthwhile before you invest your time in them. Keep in mind that you only have one life to live, so take pleasure in the ride.

People often squander their potential. Please refrain from being one of them.
