I am not life coach nor a nutritionist but I bet I am going to touch on a few items that you may be more familiar with than you think.

1. TIRED OF BEING TIRED?

Self evaluation…

Are you well rested?

Do you get enough sleep?

What is the quality of your sleep?

These are all questions that we don't typically ask ourselves. We should though and if you cant answer positively to any of the mentioned questions then I suggest you take time to sit down and take a look at it. If you are experiencing poor sleep and not getting enough rest and home remedy's don't seem to help, it may be time to seek out professional help. Johns Hopkins Center for Sleep and Wellness recommends making an appointment and being properly diagnosed. This will also work for most care providers in most areas as well. For those of you that do work a typical 9–5 or hell even those that don't, we all know that mid day feeling we get. Usually you have already had lunch and your eyes are feeling super heavy and your actively crashing and running out of gas. We reach for the coffee or the energy drink thinking we need it to wake back up and give us that much needed burst of energy. As those do act as a band aid they are not as good for you as you would think.

Sleep and being rested is the next best thing to use for fuel next to actual food and water and their nutrients they provide. Head over to the link where you will find plenty of facts and statistics regarding your sleep and all the benefits from it that will help you be your most energized, productive self.

2. CAN I GET A #7 EXTRA LARGE WITH A COKE?

Who doesn't like junk food and candy? What about drive up or fast food? Did you say Taco Bell? Wooooo, NOW its a party!!! For the sake of the article we are going to lump in pop and alcohol as well. So stupid question… Why do you think that some food is referred to as JUNK food? Well, I hate to be the one to have to break it to you but its likely because that’s exactly what it is and they are using the best word to properly describe it… JUNK! Now I am not a professional and in all honestly I am likely one of the worst offenders.

I love my Taco bell and beer/cider as much as the next person. However, I am aware and do acknowledge how much of a negative impact these things can do to our bodies and health. With so many fad diets and conflicting statistics and everyone being different its hard to really judge what's best for you even with a ton of research. Without going to in depth with what processed and junk food does to you and the impacts it has I will mention a couple things you can start consuming today to increase your energy, motivational and mental health right away. As a rule of thumb stay away from food and drinks that have zero or no notional value or if its fake.. processed, dyed or non organic. I am not saying your can have those things but none is best, some is okay on occasions and too much will… well…..kill ya… Everything in moderation.

WATER (H2O), MORE WATER: Water is life, life is water. Not only do our bodies contain and hold water but it also is a essential requirement our body depends on to help power everything from our brain to our toes and everything in between. Water has so many benefits and its be shown the average human doesn't get nearly enough. 8 Glasses a day is recommended but getting anywhere close to that from zero is a great starting point!

FRUITS & VEGATIABLES: Like I mentioned before there is a lot of different diets out there but for some of you that don't follow them and just need some general guidance I would say stick with this your fruits and vegetable over meat and breads and other food groups. Reason behind this is it has been proven that fruits and vegetables provide brain power which if you think about it powers everything else. Things like your energy levels and feelings of motivation. There are several positive things that fruits and veggies provide but I will only reference the energy aspect as it pertains to being motivated to be your best self.

3. MENTAL HEALTH. . .

If you have followed any of my other stories by now you have probably picked up on the fact that I am passionate about the mental health aspect of our lives. After many years of struggling and essentially suffering and still actively battling/recovering from mental health issues I have found my self at an odd crossroad on my journey. Over the years I have learned and studied and observed and took mental notes almost daily regarding mental health and all things surrounding it. I am a testament that mental health NOW more then every should be monitored and taken care of with the upmost importance and urgency. This article isn't to speak about mental health however, I did write an article that you can find at link below.

I bring up mental health though because it has a TON to do with motivation and being your most productive self. When your in a mental health slump or crisis its very easy to slip off to a place where you are making poor choices or your choices influence how you go about your day and how you get through it in a positive manner. Be in tune with yourself whether its meditating, breathing exercises, yoga, exercising, journaling, seeing a professional. Whatever it may be, take time and listen to yourself and take care of your mind so it can take care of the rest of you!

READY. SET. GO!

In closing I do want to mention again that you don't HAVE to do any of this. You don't HAVE to do it this exact way if you decide to make some changes. I will say that when I have focused on my sleep, also what I am putting in my body and my own personal mental health and I can testify that I have seen major changes at times. I am not saying it was overnight nor that I am always consistent at it but when I do put for the effort to recognize when I am lacking with any of these my motivation level drops and I become lazy and in a depressed state. You don't have to follow this guide at but use it to kick start you into forming your own based on what works for you and the things i have mentioned above! Stop hitting snooze on your dreams because the sad reality is that the clock is ALWAYS ticking and we all will run out of time someday. So I support and encourage you to start today and move forward and not be lazy and unmotivated and recognize what your goals and dreams are and crush them!

Below you can find another article of mine where i touch on steps to become more productive and to get a grasp on your full potential!
