MEDIUM… Crash and burn or here to stay?

WHATS BEING WRITTEN:

Without boring you all with how long I have been writing on Medium and what I have accomplished thus far and so on and so forth. I will be going straight into what I have mentioned previously. Is Medium here to stay or is it ending? I truly have no idea and to be honest I am very confused with all the stories I am reading regarding them stating that medium is no longer the place to be. There have been multiple articles that have been written by other Medium members with similar titles such as “Is this the end of Medium”, “Medium coming to an end”, “Medium is not the place to publish your stories”. Members have even went as far as posting screen shots of their twitter or exchanges with other writers proclaiming their departure.

WHAT I LEARNED:

Don’t believe everything that you read in a title. I encourage you to go into the actual body of the story either out of curiosity or pure determination to get the answer to the questions that some of these titles may have left you with. After actually reading several of the articles that were published I found that a lot of the confusion and scare tactics in the titles is primarily “CLICK BAIT” designed to lure you in. HOWEVER…. There are a few stories that I have read that actually show proof and from the POV believe that Medium is indeed not the platform to make money on nor to publish stories on as things have changed so drastically over time.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

If you are a new writer on medium first and foremost I want to say congrats and welcome. I will however point out a couple things. Before though I want to say stay the coarse and see what happens as success doesn't typically happen overnight or without a little elbow grease.

Know why you are here: Are you here for practice, recreation or to potentially make extra money or even a living?

Do your research: Regardless of why you are here make sure you research the topics you are writing about, the partner potential, the options, etc. There are so many people that are writing and some of it can be very misleading at times as the information or information that holds little merit.

Supply and share: You are here to write… So write. (Supply) provide feedback and motivation (Supply). Also make sure you are reading articles that interest you and give a clap and follow to help the next person progress as well (Share).

Lastly, I will say although I have NOT met the criteria to become a partner nor have I had an article curated yet I feel I am pointed in the right direction. I can honestly say it is somewhat stressful almost being pressure to succeed but it also comes with a sense of relaxation and gratitude as I am able to share with others in the same boat and also I have got to read some damn good articles written by well known writers and others just starting out. Find new ways to attract readers and followers, see what works for others and share the knowledge. I will leave you with a quote below that I feel fits.

There are a lot of different options you can consider when looking for ways to write and share your stories or writings. Medium is just one option that I have spoke about in this article. With enough research you will find that there are multiple platforms that you can use to get your thoughts and ideas online. Good luck! Cheers :)
