28 Day Reboot
Decluttering kitchen, bathroom, living spaces, and closet
Well, I’m told it takes fifteen minutes a day. What do you think? Would you get much done in fifteen minutes? Is it really that simple? 15 minutes times 30 days, divided by 4 weeks, equals 112.5 minutes per week.
See how complicated I can make things. And how little I pay attention. Taking 15 minutes a day times 7 days equals 105 minutes a week. Okay, well it starts tomorrow. And it ends in 28 days, not 30 days. It is for one hour 45 minutes a week.
And, I will not do that time all in one day! Promise.
Declutter
My kitchen always has clutter to get rid of, and I will await instruction
Because I have done this once before, there will be more reduction
not merely spring cleaning but tossing and giving is in store for me
I have a buddy to work with, and she has given me some glee.
A buddy is a support person, a helper to help me decide, I want to be free
of clutter, and I need someone to help with that part, you see.
It won’t be simple or easy or even quick
It sure could make me sick
Especially having to pick
which things to toss
at least I won’t have a boss.
There are regular support programs to watch
with coaches to answer questions so I don’t botch
this reboot. I’m not sure about this 28-day thing
“One day at a time …” That is all I bring
to me and you. Get out of bed.
This shouldn’t be difficult, I said!
Even though there is some dread
~
My bathroom needs a remodel, too
but there is still some decluttering to do
Clutter is not new to me
I am determined to be
clutter-free
for when I leave this life, yes
I don’t want to leave a mess
I know this works as it is not looking bad
I am feeling better about the clutter, I’m glad
about the things that have left the house.
I for sure did get some things done,
and without placing me in the poorhouse.
In a short time and in my mind, I have won
I am learning things about decluttering,
and I hope to continue allowing
myself this gift, as these tips will last a lifetime.

Decluttering
I’m not muttering
Eliminate anxiety
I’m going for satiety
If I have too much
Get rid of a bunch
~
It is but twenty eight days
and it starts today
time to stay the course
The cohort is a huge force
of support with this project
and I endorse this aspect
I found a buddy
Not an old fuddy-duddy
But a down-to-earth quick study!

Author's note: I found a couple of others that I had written about decluttering and adapted the final section of the above as I thought it was pretty clever. And whatever it takes.
P.S. About the photos above — I would like some empty hangers with space in my closet, too. And I have more shoes/boots to declutter since the last time I did this.

Good luck on your mission, Denise. I couldn't do it that way, a little bit each day. I would start, and then say, "It is time for a cup of tea." Get back to you sorting things into 'throw away' pile and 'keep for a rainy day' pile and then say, "It's all too difficult. Put it back in the box and have another cup of tea." I am hopeless at throwing things away.
Hehehehe I wish you all the best for your decluttering. Loved all your poems!
It's a never ending process at my house <3
