### The Adventure of Rudius and Alice: Part Four
As Rudius settled into city life, he felt a growing comfort in his routine. Letters from Alice warmed his heart, each word weaving their connection tighter. But one fateful evening, everything changed.
While strolling through the park after classes, he noticed a dark car slowly passing by. Inside, a few unfamiliar faces seemed to fixate on him. An uneasy feeling crept over him, but he brushed it off, thinking it was just his imagination.
The next day, as he left class, everything happened in a blur. A group of masked individuals surrounded him, their eyes glinting with menace. “You’re coming with us,” one of them commanded, grabbing him before he could protest.
“Let go of me! I don’t know anything!” Rudius shouted, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. They forced him into the back of a van and sped away from the bustling city streets.
Hours later, he found himself in an abandoned warehouse, dimly lit and eerie. The leader of the kidnappers stepped forward, a cruel smile spreading across his face. “You have something we want. That locket your grandmother gave you? It’s worth two hundred thousand dollars.”
Panic surged through Rudius. “Locket? I don’t know what you’re talking about!” He had cherished that locket as a family heirloom, filled with memories of love and warmth.
“Your grandmother might get curious if we don’t get what we want,” the kidnapper sneered. Rudius felt his heart race. He knew he had to be brave.
Trapped in the darkness, thoughts of Alice flooded his mind. He realized that if he wanted to return to her, he had to escape this nightmare. He needed a plan—a way to outsmart his captors.
As night fell, he bided his time, waiting for an opportunity. He noticed one kidnapper distracted by his phone, his guard lowered. Seizing the moment, Rudius lunged at him, using all his strength to break free.
He sprinted toward a nearby window, his heart pounding in his chest. The sounds of the city grew louder as he dashed through the unfamiliar streets, knowing he had to get back to Alice.
After what felt like an eternity, he found himself running down familiar roads. His heart raced with determination as he thought of Alice waiting for him. The locket, still tucked in his pocket, felt like a talisman of hope and love.
Finally, he reached Alice’s home. Taking a deep breath, he pressed the doorbell. When she opened the door, her eyes widened in disbelief. “Rudius!” she gasped.
“I’m back,” he said, his voice shaking. As he fell into her arms, he recounted the horrifying ordeal—the kidnapping, the threats, and his daring escape. Alice listened, her eyes filled with worry and relief. “I knew you’d come back!”
This experience forged a new chapter in their story. Rudius realized he needed to uncover the secrets behind his grandmother’s locket and understand its significance. More importantly, he knew he and Alice would face any challenge together, bound by love and courage.
Thus, the adventure of Rudius and Alice took a thrilling turn, their bond growing stronger as they braved the trials that lay ahead.
