Monster in Laws
Ok so it’s no big secret that from time to time a woman will fall head over heels for a man before realizing that his mother is what every woman dreads. Don’t get me wrong, not every situation is the same because not all mothers are this way. But then there are those who are. Thankfully my current mother in law is absolutely amazing. I would be lost without her and I never thought it was possible. Every single mother in law before her were the polar opposite. They were nosey, overbearing, rude, judgmental and narcissistic. They loathed me and im all about giving back what is given. After awhile, I was a mother in laws worst nightmare right back.

Will you marry me... No
It is crazy how I still feel some kind of way before I even start this confession. The first time I declined a proposal of marriage, I felt extremely stressed. Imagine feeling more pressure to say yes to a major life decision from society than from the guy proposing. I was fresh out of college and in my second rebound relationship. I knew when he asked that the answer was no, but I didn’t have the guts to answer him right away. At the time, I was still job-hunting after accepting a job and moving to San Antonio while waiting to see if I got accepted into one of the graduate schools I applied. But most importantly, I was still in the “depression stage” of the 5 stages of grief (after losing by hearing). I was in no position to be anyone’s wife. I was still adjusting to being a silent beauty.

A Grand Proposal
It's been seven years I've been with the love of my life and marriage has always been a subject we've talked about. It has always been something to personally feel bad about when someone in her age group she knows gets married. She's not the one to hold it against me. However, I do feel responsible for taking so long to pop the question. Especially since it has taken me this long due to financial circumstances. She is also aware of this and knows that it will come eventually. Putting myself in her shoes I can't help but wonder if and how often she hasn't questioned why or if I'll even ask for her hand in marriage. It's 2017 making it seven years in August that we will together. This is my year as I plan to pop the question. The only thing left is to plan a California vacation with her not knowing the main reason and finish my payment on the ring I placed on lay away out for her.

Thinking of Popping the Question?
The ideal proposal looks a little different for everyone. Whether he drops to one knee in the middle of an enchanted forest, on top of the skyscraping cliffs of the Grand Canyon, or in between the sun-soaked bleachers of your favorite home team’s arena, a girl knows what she wants.

Funniest Nigerian Proposals Gone Wrong
Sometimes the answer is NO. I don't know what this says about the kind of person that I am but one of my favorite videos of all time on the internet is "Mall Proposal Gone Horribly Wrong". It is HILARIOUS! At least to me. Everything goes wrong but nothing kills me more in that video than when the toy truck passes by playing pop music 🤣🤣. It's hilarious and you have to see it.

Wedding Bells
My letter to the woman of the world. Ladies, I have entered that part in life where many woman dream of! I'm in the engagement section of my life. This is my first engagement, and I couldn't be more thrilled. My relationship is different from others. My boyfriend and I talk through everything and plan everything together. There are not surprises with us. One morning we were talking in bed and he sprung on me that he wanted babies. I knew that getting married should probably happen first to make sure there's another level of security in our relationship first. I happened to suggest it. He instantly agreed!

Having Cold Feet Is Normal
Hey everyone—have you ever had a life transition that was so big, but felt like it was drawing itself out so much, you thought it would never end—this is where I am right now. I know that my life is at the brink of new beginnings with getting married in the next few weeks—insert transitions and big changes. My life is already starting to change with doing big girl things like looking into houses to purchase, and taking my career seriously, amongst other things. It has been a crazy but very rewarding season of transition, because I have learned so much. I know that my “singleness” season will be permanently over soon, and it kind of freaks me out and excites me at the same time.
