Poem for G&As wedding day

For being MOH, the honour is all mine

Shining bright, glowing like the afternoon sunlight,

sunny soul you are, spreading joy whenever you’re near or far,

Smiling delight, I heard it was love at first sight,

After the years of ups and the years of downs,

Through cheesecake trips, beach nights & car karaoke therapy hits, nights dancing in the moonlight, crying into Mcfluffy tubs on less good times,

Prancing across market squares with wine glasses clinking, new home keys jingling and moving boxes flat-packing,

we’ve done it all together previously,

You’ve been my bestfriend for nearly two decades,

We have matching tattoos! (Oops sorry Lisa & Dave) 2 lots of them, you’re under my skin, you’re part of my family, biologically now in,

You brought me my first microwave, family official gift I think,

I have seen you at your best and at your worst,

I am so ecstatic to be here to start watching your next big step unfurl,

Through lots of nights in, with wine & desserts, whoever did dinner, the other did bouquets, yellow roses for her,

That’s the rules, it’s always been that way,

Through thick and thin, yellow all the way,

Onto happy birthday singing at the door, making the best of birthdays I think were allowed to now say,

Roll back to a May bank holiday , a BBQ at my Dads, the a late night sitting on the beach waiting for him to text you back,

The giddy butterflies made us stay up all night,

Even from Mali he made such effort, a true man, sure to his word, we were thinking that he was the one, and for that it was easy to camp out till dawn,

One thing to another, 1st date, then 2nd - then Telford trips and "oh I can't this weekend I’m with Ads! Maybe see you the next one after that?’

Off you popped, love bursting from your heart, or was that your lungs from singing so much, ABBA to start, Jackie Chan to follow, 3 hours flying by during car karaoke,

Finally meeting ads, & seeing you both, showed me what real love is; how you act; so kind, so calm, so easy, so charmed, so fun,

So right, so Mr & Mrs perfect in real life,

One year to two, lots more dinners with you,

BBQs and fires outside in the summer hues,

Then the organisation for the engagement abroad hits Ads too, the surprise Poland trip, And beautiful ring for his wife to be, the quiet - don't tell - moments in-between,

the waiting for it all to happen, ads asking David for his daughters hand in marriage,

traditional & kind hearted, Ads, you made it so special and grand,

Your 2nd trip to Poland, but this time even more special,

Chilly weather, Christmas trees, Christmas markets, filled with Christmas magic, she said Yes! Ofcourse she did, twinkly lights & lots of good wine, miracles do happen at Christmas time,

Through the last year you moved house AGAIN (that’s seven I think Grace, who said luck was 3, how silly of them), moving house, getting settled,

Off up the country, and back again, it didn't push your plans back at all, optimist as ever & here we all are,

the next big thing; the wedding, the white dress, the I do and the partying through,

Mr & Mrs Beacock, legally signed & I do’d!

ads you accepted our therapy hit car kareoke,

For this, I knew, it must be true - you are the one for Grace through & through,

I wish for you continued love, and language that’s just for you,

hotty botty and bubby, and more, please keep these to yourself some more,

You inspire us all, you’re made for each other, it’s easy to see, your love for one another,

I am so proud, grateful and overwhelmed,

with joy for you being here to celebrate this next chapter in your book of life; so fresh, so new & profound,

I love you dearly to the moon and right back down,

Congratulations, you deserve all the wonders of the whole world,

Forever together,

Grace & Ads now

ceremony and reception
