Amazing Ways to Decorate a Church for Your Wedding Ceremony

Decorate a Church for Your Wedding Ceremony

By ChrisPublished 6 years ago 3 min read

A wedding is always special whether it is in an elegant church, an open sunny beach or a cozy small garden. However, your wedding deserves to be extra special and simply stand out from the scores of wedding ceremonies and receptions you have been attending so far.

Think about installing a flower arch

Your chapel aisle can do with a flower arch if you are thinking about not setting up flowers bouquets and lights at the end of every pew. Pick out elegant white roses and simple white flowers, and sturdy green leaves complete with the branches and vines for setting up the archways at the beginning of the aisle.

It will also serve as a smart and elegant backdrop for your wedding photos since every ring bearer and flower girl will know exactly where the aisle begins. You can also consider placing a wedding welcome sign near the archway to designate a clear starting point.

Add a dash of color

If it is going to be a fall or winter wedding, you might need to think about adding some hue to the otherwise grey light. Add brightly colored bouquets and corsages to the pews and altar. Add colored flowers to the entrance and altar décor.

Invest in tons of tulle. There is nothing more elegant, affordable yet effective as tulle when you have to add some merriment to the venue of the wedding. Attach bunched up tulle to the woodwork, altar and the frame gateway. Add some tulle to the welcome wreathe. It will breathe life to your wedding no matter how dark the inside of the church looks.

Invest in ONE theme

Whether you have always wanted a steampunk-themed wedding or a very traditional one, think about rolling with one theme only. Sit down and talk to the planning team about your vision of executing the ideas perfectly.

Use non-traditional props inside the church like nautical anchors and ship wheels if you simply love the ocean. Think about incorporating wheels, gears, pocket watches, large-sized pocket watches, top hats and feathers to the décor to bring a steampunk theme to life. Print your welcome note, seating chart and thank you notes in the same theme to complete the look!

Use aisle runner alternatives

If your church has a freshly done hardwood floor, you can skip the traditional aisle runners and go with flower petals. Petals from seasonal flowers are eye-catching and their fragrance will keep the place smelling fresh even on the hottest of the days.

Keep your wedding décor simple and budget-friendly by choosing the all-natural decoration options like wildflowers instead of orchids, petals from flowers instead of bouquets and foregoing aisle runners altogether.

Utilize the church garden

Use the indoors for part of the ceremony, and use the outdoors for the rest. Getting married right outside the church is both traditional and off-beat. While you can complete your vows inside, you can spend time outside for the unity ceremony or any other personalized part of the wedding.

Think about keeping part of the wedding outside especially if you are getting married on a spring or summer day for the sake of gorgeous photographs. Decorate Church garden so that your guests can spend a good time waiting outside the church as well.

Keep the 5 points in mind to save some money and at the same time, prep for the best wedding photos ever, with minimum effort. Weddings are special occasions, and memories to cherish forever. Rather than focusing on exorbitant and burn-a-hole in the pocket ideas, isn’t it better to concentrate on the tiny details that make memories memorable!
