What Your Face Reveals About Your Health
Your face can give clues to what's going on with the rest of your body.

Most people are health conscious these days. They pay more attention to their health than they did years ago. They watch what they eat and pay close attention to every ache, pain, and discomfort they have. In other words, they monitor the changes in their body so they can be taken care of before they develop into something more serious.
Some studies have proven that your face is a good indicator of what is happening throughout your body. Your face has signs to let you and your doctor know what to investigate.
Any sudden changes on your face should not be taken for granted. This includes your eyes, eyelids, nose, mouth, cheeks, and chin. Sometimes the changes might mean something minor such as being in the sun or aging. On the other hand, the changes could indicate something major.
A Receding Chin
A receding chin along with a thick neck might mean you have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a serious disorder that causes a person to stop and start breathing when he is sleeping. The condition is dangerous if it is not treated. This is not to say that everyone with a receding chin and a thick neck has the disorder, but it is a good indication that some people do have the condition.
Facial Hair on Women
It is not alarming at all when men grow facial hair. However, it should be alarming if facial hair begins to grow in the chin area of women especially when they used to have smooth skin. One hair here and there is not an indication that there is a medical issue, but a clump of dark coarse hair might be a sign that something unhealthy is going on in the body.
Red Blotches on Face

Several things might be going on in the body if your face suddenly has rashes and red blotches especially if they appear over the entire face. It could be an indication that you have a digestive problem.
Red bumps could be a sign that you have symptoms of Celiac Disease. That's an autoimmune disorder that occurs in people when they eat foods that contain gluten. The small intestines are affected.
If the bridge of your nose and cheekbones has a skin rash, it might be a sign of lupus. Check with your physician to find out for sure.
Eye Warnings
Eyes and the area around them often gives warnings about health problems going on in other areas of a person's body.
Red and flaky eyelids occur mostly in women who use the wrong makeup on a regular basis. Some products might not be suitable for certain types of skin. Also, women might use expired makeup that causes their eyelids to become swollen. Refrain from using that eye makeup, as well as seeing an eye doctor.
Bulging, glassy eyes or blurred vision could be signs of a thyroid problem. Because the body requires more oxygen, the eyes may become bigger and the person might look like he is frightened.
Swollen eyes, along with a puffy face, dry skin and thinning hair could be signs that the person is not getting enough iodine in his system.
Around Mouth and Nose
If your skin becomes bluish or grayish around your mouth and nose, there might be a problem with your blood circulation that means there is a lack of sufficient oxygen. This could indicate a heart or lung disease as well as an indication of anemia.
