The Power of Stillness
Be still until...you are happy.

A high-quality image is delivered only when the lensman focuses on the right way. The precision in the quality of an image depends on the stillness. Similarly, life has copious pictures to be captured by us, and hence we need to be more “still” no matter what the circumstances are. It’s not easy to be still in life, but still, it’s possible. Imagine your mind is a camera, and the focus is your thoughts. A high-quality image can be delivered when your thoughts aren’t disturbed by the external ecosystem. It is the reliance of the mind on thoughts that help us to capture the right image. We can train our minds according to our needs, and vice versa.
The problem starts when you chase an opportunity ignoring reality. The eagerness to grab everything under the sun divert our thoughts towards something else and finally end up with nothing. Thanks to the education system for indoctrinating our minds with illusions on stuff that had the least value in life.
We are into this beautiful life to discover our true selves. A time well spent on self-introspection is itself the start of a new life. Our mind is a forum of all possibilities, provided we set our priorities right. Allow good thoughts into the mind to reach unlimited heights. The inner voice is more democratic and, it works well when engaged consciously. A true friend, philosopher, and guide is our own body and soul and, other things are just a false illusion. The human eco-system doesn’t expect but accepts positive affirmations and interactions. Being still helps to enjoy a peaceful and content life. One has to come out of darkness to discover a new light of life.
Humans are gifted with a conscious heart and mind to accept all good thoughts. Work hard to live as a peaceful soul, not a pleasing soul. When we understand the purpose of our existence, happiness will be in abundance. You have all the power to train the mind to be kind. Settle your mind with conscious feelings of love, care, and happiness and make use of the positive energy to heal the negative thoughts and emotions. We are all blessed with natural comforts, still struggle for the non-natural. Detachment from attachment is a significant achievement.
So, what’s the modus operandi to bring our life into stillness? Complicated question right, don’t worry, it is simple. Train your mind to be quiet and silent, and to achieve this one should practice certain things.
Try out these 10 simple steps and experience the power of being still:
1. Stop thinking about future opportunities, focus on present reality.
2. Allow your mind to settle and remember you’re not here only to think.
3. Slowdown a bit, hurriedness doesn’t bring happiness.
4. Mind your thoughts and emotions and, do not express everything.
5. Practice mindful breathing and walking.
6. Remember that everything is temporary and nothing is permanent. Here nothing refers to anything that has no attachment with self, ego, comforts and endless desires.
7. We are gifted with inbuilt immunity- a conscious vision can help us to achieve the highest level of peace in life.
8. When we travel deep in life, one will receive much love and care. Depth is an important parameter to disengage from comforts and desires.
9. There is abundant patience available in the nature. To experience you need to be non-egoist, non-self and non-hatred.
10. Experience the essence of reality with nothing in life. Nothing is having everything; peace, love, happiness, care, etc.
Openness to accept things as they are will allow one's mind to control their emotions and thoughts. Stillness brings in a sustainable change that enhances both physical and mental wellbeing. Nothing can stop you, provided you're happy with your existing possessions.
