B) Presentation

a) What is illness?

Illness is a sign that the body is damaged due to living out of harmony with nature. The signs that appear are reminding us to return to living properly and heal the damage.

b) Causes and solutions

b.1) Living against nature: eating and drinking incorrectly

- Food:

+ Choosing inappropriate food: unbalanced yin and yang, consuming too much food that is too yin or too yang. For example: bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, eggplants, berries, white sugar, bottled soft drinks, etc. are very yin. Fish, meat, eggs, animal milk, etc. are very yang.

+ Solution: choose balanced yin and yang foods: whole grains, brown rice, cereals, barley, whole buckwheat, green vegetables, tubers rich in fiber.

- Processing:

+ Do not cook yin foods thoroughly (vegetables, tubers, fruits, whole grains). Solution: when cooking plant foods thoroughly (Vegetables should not be overcooked until mushy like porridge, but should be cooked enough to be easily digestible), the body will absorb them easily, the stomach will be less tired, and it will be easier to digest.

+ Yang foods are overcooked, so they become yin. (However, for those with a strong yang body, this will be good for them because the yin and yang ratio will be balanced). Solution: Just cook them until they are cooked. If you have problems with your teeth, you can pre-process them by cutting them into small pieces or pureeing them before cooking.

+ Too many spices and bad spices such as refined sugar, seasoning powder, chili, fish sauce made from animals with strong odors, if often cooked in large quantities, consumed in large quantities will cause digestive disorders, body odor, especially flatulence is even more miserable. Solution: Using 4 or fewer spices (healthy spices, such as whole grain sea salt, turmeric powder, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, ...) is enough. (ancient people only had whole grain sea salt to cook many delicious and rich dishes)

+ Incorrect combination of foods can be toxic. Solution: learn which foods are incompatible with which foods, to avoid.

- Wrong way of eating:

+ Eat quickly, do not chew thoroughly, eat more than necessary, eat too much food in one meal (easy to cause poisoning if they are different, and the body also has to mobilize many types of enzymes to digest each type).

+ Advice, chew food thoroughly until you feel that they are as smooth as water before swallowing, and eat frugally and simply.

- Wrong way to drink:

+ Drink more than necessary, drinking water that is either too hot or too cold (when the water is not suitable for body temperature, drinking it will cause heat shock, and it will be dangerous in the long run), drink it all in one gulp.

+ To know if you have drunk enough water, take small sips of water, hold it in your mouth for a while so that the water temperature is with your body temperature, then swallow the water, swallow gebalanced ntly and slowly. That way you will quench your thirst and drink enough, not too much or too little, but not enough water is better than too much (The lack of water here refers to the amount of free water in the body, not the water in connective tissues, which make up about 70% of the body).

b.2) Negative psychology

- Living a depressed, pessimistic life, you cannot live a healthy, long life. The human brain is very loyal to the will of its owner, if one is bored with life, the brain will follow suit, leading the body to fulfill this mindset.

- Solution:

+ Find the motivation to live, live to love, develop yourself.

+ Get in touch with nature more, like going to the beach for a walk, climbing mountains, getting close to trees, breathing fresh air.

+ Seeking spiritual faith can also help. (do not mean to advise you to blindly believe in religion like a martyr)

+ Suitable diet, your psychology will also be stable.

+ And, many more solutions.

b.3) Poor sleep:

- Symptoms:

+ Have to toss and turn for a long time to fall asleep, or have to use measures such as reading boring books, taking medicine.

+ Sleep is interrupted by nightmares, anxiety, nocturia (originating from psychological and health problems).

+ Wake up feeling lethargic, have to set the alarm many times, mind is blank like a person in a daze.

- Solution:

+ Right eating: a balanced body of yin and yang will surely be healthy, healthy will surely sleep well.

+ Live optimistically: regulate anxiety, a peaceful person will surely sleep well.

+ Moderate exercise (depending on each person's body and exercise needs): little exercise makes the body stuffy, blood circulation is not good, digestion is poor, difficulty sleeping, waking up tired. Too much exercise will cause fatigue, and you will easily fall asleep and have a deep sleep (however, it is easy to fall asleep, but you will wake up tired).

c) 7 tips from Taiyi Zhenren:

+ 1. Talk less to nourish internal energy

+ 2. Avoid hypersexual desire to nourish vital energy

+ 3. Eat less spicy food to nourish blood energy

+ 4. Do not spit to nourish the internal energy

+ 5. Do not be angry to nourish the liver energy

+ 6. Do not overeat to nourish the stomach energy

+ 7. Worry less to nourish the heart energy

d) Conclusion:

Illness comes from wrong lifestyle and diet. Preventing and curing illness is not difficult, but the important thing is to have an understanding of yourself and the will to cure the illness (it is not profound, please readers, please calmly listen to the voice of the body, just calm down).
