Busting Fitness Myths

Here's a thought-Why do you continue doing the same thing for months and months even after realizing that it does not work for you ?

We as humans somehow always find ourselves going back to things that do not work out for us because we are often afraid of change. So

is the same in the fitness world-Why do you keep going back to old workout routines that no longer produce results ?

Here, I am going to break down the exact three things that hold you back from gaining muscles and looking big. So stick around and let me spill some facts for you.

A. MORE WORK = MORE GAINS

One of the biggest myths in the fitness industry, especially for bulking up is that more work will produce more muscle gains, resulting in you gaining size. Let me just say it now-That is not true. More work in fitness terms doesn't always equal more gains.

In fact, it may just be the thing holding you back.

I get it, working out can be so fun and good. For that specific reason, we find ourselves training for 2 hours, 6 days a week and somehow expect to grow. What makes this even harder is that you find yourself pushing and dedicating more and more effort with no progress, after months and months of training consistently. It's frustrating pushing yourself as much as you can, challenging your body, but still experience little or no progress at all.

B.JUST EAT MORE FOOD

This is one that most of us usually fall for. You want to bulk and add some size to your frame so you do your research, find out how to get big and one the first things you usually run into is you need to eat more food. Yes, as you can see-I've been there done that, but here's the question you probably have in your head right now you read along-

How is that a lie in the fitness world ? Good question-Usually the people who advise you to eat more food never really educate you on how to do that effectively and safely.

While eating more is a big part of bulking up and looking big, it's usually under strict and strategic conditions and tracking of food intake.

Here's how I'll put it for you, finding yourself eating just any type of foods in order to add size to your frame is a very inefficient way to do so. You add some size, but you'll likely gain more fat during your bulk than is necessary.

C.FOCUS ON LIFTING HEAVY

Lifting heavy often increases strength, but does always equate to gaining more muscle than you would have if you were just using moderate weight to train intensely.

Why am I addressing this as a lie ? Too often than not, I've seen a lot of individuals who rush to training with heavy weights that their body isn't even ready for .Why I asked-Because I was watching a certain video online and was taught the importance of training heavy sometimes.

What usually strikes me after hearing that is "Did the individual properly understand the context of the video ?"

Training heavy is done under certain conditions that will work for you, not against you. This is because randomly training heavy during every session increases your risk of injuries. When bulking up, training heavy is not to be incorporated into every workout.

"REASONS WHY THESE LIES KEEP PEOPLE DOWN"

These kind of lies usually cause more harm than good and keep a lot of individuals down. Till this day I still say that it's so frustrating finding yourself moving in circles, with no sense of progress in any way to match the effort that you put in to getting in shape.

Training can be a wonderful experience, but can equally cause dissatisfaction in ones eyes.

The real danger is in not just stalling your body- but how myths like this can crush your mindset. You start questioning whether it's even possible for you to grow.

I know this because I once found myself believing them too. It was only when I was tired of not making progress that I changed my approach to bulking and gained a significant amount of muscle. Looking back I realize that they were part of the process of making me more self aware when it comes to training-and I'm grateful for it because I've now come to the light, and now you can too.
