That time I bought too much crap on the internet

Don't do it

Alright, so I am guilty of going on the internet and making impulse buys that I may or may not regret. This one time at band camp... Just kidding. But in all seriousness, I was on Facebook looking at a few ads that were apparently targeted at me and, my browsing style, caught my eye... Big time. If there is something health-related, I generally have to look into it. One of my favorite fitness and health authors tends to wildly promote supplements and other products related to increasing health. I happened to read one of his articles and I had to buy what he was talking about. The only problem is it wasn't just one thing, it was a whole lot of expensive shiny new health supplements. Anyway, $500 later I realized I didn't really do much research into the products and I bought the items on a whim. That's not how I like to operate and I usually don't. But hey, I figured I would give it a shot. YOLO. I definitely felt buyer's remorse and of course, I could've just canceled or returned my order, but I didn't.

The products finally came and boy was I excited. That being said when I saw all of the pills and powders I bought I became less excited. The truth is I already have a stockpile of healthy pills that I use... Sometimes... But whatever. The real issue wasn't the quality of the product it was more how impulsive I was and how unaware I was being when buying them. I realized I had basically every supplement I ordered from the site, his were just "better." So I splurged and wound up feeling silly.

My vices are pretty simple, food and health supplements. When there is something new and exciting in the food or health world I research them and try them as soon as possible. I have definitely conditioned myself to do that and get excited. In this area, I am not the dog wagging his tail but the tail wagging the dog. I am not in control. But hey, I think overall I really enjoy those things and am probably healthier overall because of my splurging. Facebook and the other social media sites know me so well! Sometimes I think too well... Anyway, I will say that I have become a little more discipline in my spending. Through all the research and trial and error, I have been fortunate to come up with a stack that I feel definitely works well for me in terms of overall health maintenance, muscle building, energy, and recovery. I definitely think there are some things for health supplements that are overrated and don't work on me and probably aren't that beneficial anyway. The tried and true supplements for me that I take and will splurge on for social media posts are: Magnesium Glycinate or other chelates, Omega-3's, Creatine, and sometimes amino acid powders and usually BCAA's.

Does anybody want any supplements? I'll give you them at the most competitive price on the market! Just kidding. But take a look at the links below to see which ones I have purchased in the past. Creatine, Amino Acid Powder, Omega-3 Fish oil, Colostrum. All are really good stuff that I will generally supplement with on a regular basis. As mentioned above I already had plenty of these supplements. Kion happens to be quite expensive too, but they do truly work really well.

Thanks for reading and if you enjoyed this silly splurge story feel free to take the opportunity to tip me! I certainly hope you did!
