Below, you will find some tea recommendations for morning, lunch and evening, so that you can make the most of the benefits of the different varieties.

What tea should you drink early in the morning?

It is the best time to enjoy black teas, which will give you energy and a great start to the day. Depending on the assortment, you can drink them simple, sweetened, with milk or lemon.

Generally, a cup of black tea (237 ml) can be between 47 and 90 mg of caffeine, a lower content than that of a classic cup of coffee. See in this article some myths about caffeine in tea.

  • English Breakfast - a traditional blend of black tea, with a strong aromatic taste.
  • Earl Gray - citrus-flavored black tea - complements well with honey and lemon.
  • Masala Chai - a mix of black tea and spices, delicious with milk. Especially if you do sports in the morning, matcha is also a very good choice, because it contains many antioxidants, is rich in theine, vitamins, and minerals. It is a green tea in the form of a fine powder, which you can enjoy in many combinations. Here are some recipes.

If you do not want to consume caffeine in any form, try herbal blends Good morning or Buddhist inspiration.

What tea should you drink at lunch time?

To maximize the absorption of nutrients from food, especially iron, it is recommended to consume green or black teas separately for lunch or dinner, leaving at least 2–3 hours between them. So, at lunch, you can drink especially teas that help digestion or that give you the energy to continue the day with growth.

Mint tea - refreshing and invigorating, mint is known for its beneficial effects on digestion. Peppermint has a higher menthol content, so a stronger flavor, but an equally pleasant option is dwarf mint.

Ginger tea - blends of plants, flowers, and fruits that contain ginger will pamper your taste buds and help you digest.

Yerba mate - is a plant that contains caffeine and has a hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, diuretic effect, being famous for its energizing properties.

Tea you can drink in the afternoon

Green teas, such as Gunpowder or Sencha, are perfect for the afternoon, with a lower caffeine content compared to black ones.

Oolong - located between green tea and black tea in terms of oxidation, the assortments of oolong are surprising with the discreet notes of caramel, nuts, fruits, or milk.

Fruit tea - cheer up your afternoon with sweet and playful blends, with plenty of fruit, but no caffeine. Funky Monkey, Fried Pineapple, or Apple Strudel will impress you with their dessert flavors.

Tea for nice evenings

During this time of day, we recommend caffeine-free infusions, with a calming effect, which will ensure you a peaceful sleep. Herbal teas are welcome, especially chamomile, lavender, lime, or even rooibos tea.

Coming from South Africa, rooibos tea has a sweet taste naturally, and combined with fruits or spices will transpose you with the thought of exotic lands.

Of course, the preference for one tea or another is subjective, and our recommendations are purely indicative, to help you get an idea of the effects of different varieties. After all, you can drink any type of tea whenever you want.

We do not believe in strict rules, but we invite you to explore the world of tea and create your own "menu", depending on your lifestyle, schedule, and pleasures.
