yoga
Yoga and meditation are essential in living a health and wellness lifestyle. Longevity highlights yoga poses, celebrities, trends, and fads.
Yin and Restorative Yoga
While styles of yoga like Hatha and Vinyasa have become somewhat ubiquitous in nearly every gym in America, there are other quieter forms that are found primarily in spaces committed to exclusively to the practice of yoga. These forms, though not as well known, offer the body more subtle benefits that ought not to be missed.

Bending Over Backwards to Relieve PMDD
Feeling depressed? Anxiety got you in its grip? Body and mind all tense? If so, chances are good that you also aren’t breathing fully. You’re likely collapsed through the chest, and this is likely causing even more tension in your neck and shoulders. Haven’t we all got enough to deal with?! Unfortunately, the discomfort can become a vicious cycle. And women with PMDD know all about vicious cycles!

How to Use Yoga to Heal Injuries. Top Story - November 2018.
Yoga is a huge part of my life and has been for going on eight years now, before I did my teacher training I would take every kind of yoga imaginable. It is a common misconception that yoga is only for the white, middle class, chai latte drinking, designer legging wearing, skinny, hipster girl. I see every shape, size, race and gender at my classes, and every single person is there for their own special reason.

Naked Yoga
Gymnosophist is a term the ancient Greeks used to describe the “naked wise men” or the “naked philosophers” of India. Suffice to say, spiritual nudity has had a long tradition in India, as well as in yogic practice. In Sanskrit, the practice of nude yoga is called Nagna Yoga or Vivastra Yoga.

How Does Yoga Help My Anxiety and Depression?
Yoga is not a cure-all for depression or anxiety. Don’t worry, I’m not about to say that twenty minutes of yoga a day will fix you. It certainly doesn’t fix me, but it makes a terrible day easier to bear, gives those flat days a boost and makes a good day that bit better.

Yoga Style
On the last weekend of October my two good friends and I will go to a yoga seminar in the heart of Plaza St-Hubert in Montreal. For me this will be a first, but my friends practice yoga on a regular basis. I don't know why so many people practice this sport. I hope to find out soon.

Yoga; Physically vs. Mentally, Abundantly, Fulfilling, Spiritually
Yoga; to me such a widely defined practice. Some use Yoga for stretching and exercise. Some apply it to their weekly workouts and some only do yoga every once in a while. When it comes to the word “yoga” there are few people that automatically think that it is a spiritual thing, but truth is; yoga is what you make it!!

Exercise Trends You Need to Try If You Love Yoga. Top Story - August 2018.
Calling all my fellow yogis! I LOVE yoga, don’t you? It’s so diverse. There are so many variations, so many new things to try! When I first started yoga (almost a decade ago) it wasn’t so wide spread and mainstream; it was a lot more alternative and less well received. Now, thanks to this new burst of health kicks in the media, and with a little help from social platforms like Instagram, yoga has become a cool way of keeping fit, socialising, getting in touch with your spirituality, and all round having fun.
