Garden of Existence
The journey to my Garden of Existence is through a tunnel of brilliant hues and light. The light is warm on my skin yet cool in its push. It encapsulates me with pure happiness and freedom. There was a moment in my past where I entered a deep state of meditation. I envisioned three angels surrounding me. Guiding me through this tunnel but I could not keep up with their speed. I grew fearful that I would fall behind and lose them forever. The One with The Rich Chocolate Hair grabs my by the wrist and brings me back. There is a pause and the angels float in formation around me, inviting me to ask.

I Remember
I wandered aimlessly. Pulled toward something unexplained. The Moon called to me and in turn, I felt its pull. I remember clearly that it was full, bright as the sun. Full of light, full of hope. Perhaps it was the hope I sought? Perhaps. Perhaps it would shed some light onto my life, to show me a purpose. I wandered for so long that I was desperate, desperate to seek for anything that would change me. I suffered, but some part of me clawed at the pain I felt, and I ached, no I desired, somewhere deep down, for an alternate me — one that was truly happy. For I wasn’t. I had been stuck for years, and all the while my hope dwindled away. It was as if when I walked, the hope shed from my skin, like dust. I was something, then I was nothing. A memory.

Free Weekly Reading #49 Mirror Dragon Tarot
Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric, (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I open my eyes, turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

A Superpower Called Intuition
Three weeks ago I watched movers pack up my apartment swaddling my belongings into reams of cream colored paper. Items emptied into cardboard boxes, taped up, and one by one carried out the front door and into the moving van. A few days later I loaded the remaining items in my car. Plants, a suitcase full of clothes and toiletries, boxes of keepsakes, blankets, and pillows (the important stuff) and I set off on a 1,720 mile journey to my new home in California. Three weeks ago I left Kansas City after calling it home for the past 11 years, leaving behind friends and moving further away from my family. The three day road trip was exciting and terrifying (was I going to be safe by myself for three days on the road?).
