Rebounding Is My Passion
No longer just a child's toy

This challenge was a fun one, however a little difficult one. The challenge was to write about what I am most passionate about. That right there was the hard part, as there are many things that I am passionate about. I could write a whole thesis on what I am passionate about and the reasons for each one of them. The topic that I chose that I am extremely passionate is jumping on a trampoline, also known as rebounding. That has been one of my passion’s majority of my life.
When I was a child, I was so passionate about rebounding that I even had a mini trampoline in my room. When most children get finished with their homework, the first thing that they want to do is watch television or play their video games. Not me! I always went straight to my room and bounced on my small rebounder. Sometimes, when I really did not want to go to sleep, I would get out of bed and bounce on my trampoline in the dark. When I was ten years old, my parents knew exactly what to get me for Christmas. They got me a big-sized trampoline that went in our backyard. That made me popular in school as well. Many kids used to want to come over to my house, just so they could have fun and jump in the air. Many adults could not figure out why I was so passionate about rebounding that I had two: one in my room, and one outside. I used to tell them because it made me feel like I was flying, especially the higher I bounced. I often felt like it was just me and the sky, especially when I would have a bad day. Being up in the air (even if it is only for a few seconds) really is a magical experience that one can does not describe. Each one of us must experience that ourselves to understand it.
As an adult I have learned that rebounding is not only fun, however there are several health factors to it, as well. Rebounding helps drain the lymphatic system, it works the whole body, however, unlike running it doesn’t hurt your joints, improves balance and posture, helps to reduce cellulite, strengthens skeletal system and increase’s bone mass, increase’s oxygen levels, etc. Another thing that I could write a whole book on. This is also something that can be done at any age to. Just like any exercise, if a person has not been working out, then they need to start at the beginner’s level, and advance when they start plateauing. This is also a fun exercise, so it is easy to stick with. I am one of those, that if I don’t enjoy my workout routines, then it is easy to give up on them. I have never had a hard time sticking to my exercise routines on my rebounder. In fact, I look forward to them. That is one of the exciting parts of my day.
Another thing that most people do not know about rebounding is that’s one way how NASA trains their astronauts. In 1980 NASA conducted a study where they compared the affects repairing bone density on astronauts who had just returned to earth, between a rebounder and a treadmill. They learned that the affects of the rebounder were fare greater, than the affects od the treadmill. Ever since, NASA has used rebounding as part of the exercise routines for future astronauts. Both in the water and out of the water. They use a regular trampoline for their cardio, and they jump on a trampoline in water (pool) for part of their resistance training. So, just think how interesting that is. When a person is doing intense workouts on a trampoline, they are literally like an astronaut.
There is an actual job one can get where they can be a certified rebound ologist. That is what I would like to do. I would like to help people struggling with their weight in a fun way, and I would like to educate people that it is a particularly good piece or workout equipment and not just a child’s toy. I have plans of starting my own rebounding business, which is why people should support me on my endeavors. There is a lot I can teach everybody!
I hope each person reading this has learned something new today, and I hope each one of you all give rebounding a try.
