Mirror Dragon Tarot Part 8
Reading for 10-14 thru 10-20-19

Reading for 10/14 thru 10/20/19
The Center card for this week is the Four of Swords.
With this four at the center, the focus for the week will be about finding a copacetic balance between the decisions we’ve made and the people with whom we’ve made them. (Including ourselves.) The fours of the Tarot generally represent a time for organizing and aligning. We’ve made initial steps, gathered needed materials, and set the course. With the aces we have the idea, with the twos we recognize possibilities for bringing the idea to reality, and the threes represent implementation, putting plans into action. The fours see us stepping back from the rough draft or the foundation or the collection of resources and seeing the project as a whole. It’s from this point of realization, as we see that pieces are falling into position and actually taking shape, we begin to look at the farther reaches and implications of this thing we’ve made real. Often the fours have us feeling that we’re in a time of stasis, and that can seem uncomfortable especially after the work we’ve already put in, but with this break we’re given a chance to experience things from a broader perspective. So this week we begin to see the results of our tough communications from the past few weeks.
The West card is the Queen of Swords.
I see the Queens of the Tarot as the nurturers, the teachers and that gentle influence of feminine wisdom. The Knights (Kings in RWS) are the pathfinders, the prow of the ship that parts the waves, or the blade of the plow that opens the soil. It is the Queens who begin to form a collective understanding of what to do from there. This queen is the master of communication with the wisdom of experience and the gentler touch of understanding and acceptance. She’s no puff though. If she finds it necessary to push her point she will do it, quite literally, with the sharp end of her rapier wit. With her influence it seems that we recognize the plans and ideas we’re working with are good. We’re feeling confident that what we’ve decided or chosen is highest and best for all involved and we feel good about that. The result is that we’re able to communicate that confidence and trust in a way the folks we’re dealing with can “get it”. Whether they choose to get it or not is another thing, but our own position is firm and clear. It’s the reason we’re able to take that step back to allow our groundwork to show its effectiveness.
The East card for the week is the Fool.
This card is one of the Major Arcana, so it shows us an overview of the lesson woven into the fabric of recent experience. Often the first response I get to the appearance of the Fool in a reading goes something like... “What do you mean the Fool?! I’m not a fool!” or “Great. Now I’m a fool.” It’s easy to take the word fool as negative, especially in this information age. The Fool in the Tarot is ruled by the zero. The zero represents the Void and the Void is that into which all things are created. So the Fool is actually pure possibility. I believe he’s named as he is because of his lack of any preconceived idea, judgement or expectation. He is pure. He’s the Master of the Void and in that he is fearless. One of the images I get in my mind when working with the Fool is of the old Roadrunner cartoons. Wile E. Coyote is forever chasing the roadrunner and those times when the roadrunner runs right off the edge of a cliff and the coyote follows right off that cliff behind him. For the first few steps, the coyote is the master of the Void. Unfortunately, the left-brain understanding of physics then kicks in and the coyote remembers about gravity and zip! There he goes down to the desert floor. I find the Fool in those first few steps when literally anything is possible.
In conclusion;
This week may have a feeling of slowness or drag as we’re given an opportunity to step back and take a look at the progress we’ve made. If obstacles pop up or connections miss each other, though it may be frustrating, those breaks give us the necessary time to view how things are working on their own.
There will likely be opportunities for us to be effective with our communication as well this week. Wrapped in a cloak of confidence as we watch our plans take shape, our interactions, conversations and communication will have the power of our successes behind them.
Finally our lesson in this is about mastering the Void. As we gaze into the emptiness that’s not really emptiness can we allow ourselves to see how effective we've been in choosing do do things a bit differently or go a bit farther than we have before? Can we allow ourselves to take those few magic steps? Are we open to new possibilities? Is there fear there? ...or confusion? … or excitement?
Things to ponder.
Have a definitive week!
Light,
Tory
Tip for the week: Be kind to your enemies. It drives them crazy.
