Reading for 9-12 thru 9-22-19

The Center card this week is the Empress.

The Empress represents the Divine Feminine. She embodies compassion, acceptance, generosity and empathy. In following the Fool’s journey, the path of the Major Arcana, she is the third lesson. The Fool at zero shows us the Void, that into which all things are created and therefore the existence of pure possibility. The second step is the Magician who gazes into the vast nothing of complete possibility and realizes that he has the tools, the talent, the intellect, and the will to create any-thing into the no-thing of the Void. As the Empress appears she is the voice of compassion reminding the Magician that although he is able to create absolutely anything into the Void, perhaps there are things best left floating in the space of maybe or after some time or after growth and change. With her compassionate and selfless viewpoint, she presents the idea of consequence and the recognition that what may be good for the one is not necessarily good for the many. So the prevailing influence this week is a desire to compassionately combine feelings and interactions that perhaps have been at odds or poorly aligned up to now.

The West card is the Ace of Wands.

The Aces of each suit embody the qualities of that suit in their purest form so, as representatives of fire, the wands illuminate, purify, refine and create. They spark our curiosity, our creativity and our will, the passion that drives us. Fitting nicely into the energy of the week, we likely find ourselves excited by the prospect of including new and different products, aspects, ideas and methods into our creative processes. We’ve opened eyes that, in the past, have been blinded by a (sometimes lazy or fearful) dedication to the “status quo.” Since we’ve likely been feeling blocked or tangled up by doing things in the same old way, there is an itch for change that clears and takes form as we begin to look at things differently. By including new or previously unconsidered things that didn’t fit into the old paradigm, we shift the entire energy of the process we’re working with allowing new outcomes, new endings and new beginnings.

The East card is the 9 of Pentacles.

This nine shows that our resources are in full flow. Ideas are becoming manifest, needed resources are found or accepted or perhaps even the need for some resources is decreased or erased all together. There can be a feeling of fear as we watch our resources flow out, but the beauty of this nine is that it’s not just outflow, there is increase as well. The trick is to let go of things that we may have been able to rely on in the past but that don’t support the new direction or growth of what we’re creating and working on now. Farmers routinely rotate their fields to allow the soil to rebuild nutrients and “rest” between plantings. In this way, the flow of resources follows its natural course. So too does an infusion of new ideas and energy reawaken life giving nutrients for our own growth.

In conclusion

The central influence for the week is a renewed compassion and acceptance of energy, ideas, plans or resources that we may have tossed to the side in favor of finishing up a cycle of challenging work that demanded close attention and a good deal of our energy. As we lift our eyes, pull our heads out of the trenches and make a renewed assessment of the possibilities around us, we feel inspired. Our compassion opens our eyes, our fiery will triggers inspiration and our resources take on new roles, new capacities and renewed vigor. Take a good look at things you have refused in the past for being too old or too new, too simple or too complicated, too nebulous or too closed-minded or that just rubbed you the wrong way. There could be hidden gems there that we refused to see blinded as we were by “the way it’s always been.” Maybe it has always been done that way, but if we just keep on doing the same things in the same way, nothing new ever comes of it and sometimes (OK most times) we thrive with change and renewal.

Have a renewed week.

Light,

Tory
