Lesson On spirituality

Lesson One

By Lachandra JordanPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

So, I guess the reaction that I get most often in my life when people see me and find out that I am not in fact the statue quo and I don't adhere to a religion and I tell them that I am in fact spiritual is the same way I use to react to people when I would hear them say I'm spiritual which is "oh you must mean you are confused". Right, because exactly what does that mean? Is there a set of beliefs around spirituality? Are there rules like in religion? Do you worship God? like what is spirituality, exactly?

What is spirituality?

Spirituality is Gaining wisdom

3 pillars of spirituality

About ourselves and what brings us inner peace outside of the walls of the 3Dimensial world we live (the sphere and society in which we created on this sphere)

About the universe and how it works

About divinity and what it is and what it means to us

So, when people ask you what does that [spirituality] mean, which in other words they are asking what exactly do you believe?

Just a heads up in the back of people’s mind what they really mean when they ask this question is do you believe in God or not. We will get to that question in a sec. but first there are some questions that need to be answered within you before you even begin to understand what God means.

So, let’s tackle the first part of this explanation of spirituality

Spirituality is gaining wisdom. Well, more like spirituality is wisdom. Spirituality is a philosophy about life, love, self, and the universe. I think the biggest pit fall that people who are interested in spirituality end up falling into is their approach. A lot of time we come to spirituality once we are at our wits end, and we are so frustrated with the idea of spirituality and the vagueness that goes along with it we spend much of our introduction to spirituality being confused trying to answer a question that seems more complicated than it should be.

Lesson 1

Spirituality is only confusing and vague when you are on the outside of it.

The reason we do this is because we approach spirituality the same way we would approach religion, right. Because that is natural. Your only reference point on how to do this kind of thing is from religion. So, when we approach spirituality what do we do, we start looking for a book or some rules or some structure that tells us HOW to be spiritual. And the biggest flex (a flex is a boastful display or expression) spirituality has on our life is by showing us its entire meaning right at the beginning of our journey, most of us just don’t see it because we are still blind. We are still walking in the unknown, that same unknown that led us to spirituality is the same blindness that keeps us from seeing the very answer we are frustrating ourselves with trying to find. Ask yourself first what is it you are asking of spirituality? You must always remember that spirituality flows in the same direction as the vastness of space and in the same unique unordered direction of free-flowing water? And as someone new to this your natural reaction to trying to be spiritual is to try and contain it. Let me set your mind at ease and tell you, you are not meant to grab spirituality or contain it. And the best part of this knowledge is the fact that even in your failed attempts to contain spirituality, spirituality is no further away from you in the beginning of your journey than it will be at the end of it.
