What I've Learned About My Body: 2nd Day of Veganism (It Isn't Great)
I started my journey of veganism a few days ago, March 11 to be exact. Before I get into telling you about how my body is now, let me give you some background about what my body typically is like. I am an out-of-shape college student and I eat ramen and junk food basically everyday. My digestion system is terrible; I maybe use the bathroom (number two) three times a week. My skin is oily and acne prone however, I do drink a ton of water. Before I started eating plant-based, I typically ate meat and dairy every day and multiple times throughout the day. Breakfast usually consisted of a sugary cereal with cow milk, lunch would be fast food (Chick Fil A, Chipotle) and dinner was usually skipped due to my busy schedule and studying.

My First Half-Marathon
I ran my first half-marathon in September 2017. I have always wanted to run one and it was not until my good friend approached me about the topic that I hunkered down and the two of us got to training. Prior to that, I had set out to train a handful of times only to give up when the runs got longer.

Unto the Breach
This is the first of several writes about my journey working with athletes at Sports City Manchester, helping them achieve their dreams and goals. In a world where more than ever we are pushing for excellence, it is a final balance to strike between maximum performance and dream destroying injury. It is a science that we are still learning about and growing with.

Chronic Illness: A Life of Trial and Error
Ah, good ole' chronic illness. We've all heard of "it," but do we really know what "it" is? Let me start by telling you, having a chronic illness is neither easy, nor is it fun. I know, you hear stories of how people with a chronic illness can't work, or can't attend school. A lot of people think that victims of having a chronic illness are living the dream. No work? Great! No school? Even better! But let me tell you, anyone who thinks that is wrong. I know this because I have a chronic illness, and it has taken my life away from me.

Living With Scars
I have an easier time trusting someone who has scars than someone who has unblemished skin. I'm not sure what it is, but scars tell the stories of where you've been in life. And if you've gone through life unscathed then it is likely we won't have a great deal in common.

My Cancer Scare
It all started with a stomach ache. I didn’t think much about it as stomach aches are a perfectly normal thing to experience. We’ve all eaten something bad or have been sentenced to hours in the bathroom after a dinner at Taco Bell. It happens to the best of us.

Life Begins At...
Well, I hit the 4-5 this year and the next turn off is junction 50. The world seems to be getting ready for it as well. I remember 15 years or so ago I was getting spam for penis enlargers and free entry passes to all night raves. Now it’s saga insurance and free eye/hearing tests for the over 40s. Or my favourite, female incontinence knickers, seamless so no one will know.

I Get Paid to Fuel Addiction
I love Starbucks. Close your eyes and you can smell that delicious, sexy aroma of coffee, hear the muddled blend of relaxing music, steaming milk and blenders whirling among friendly chatter. It is a place where I have always felt welcomed and very productive. What I have referred to as my second home during college, where I have spent most of my paycheck and time doing homework. Whether you grab your coffee fix on the go or bunker down in the welcoming space there is nothing better than sipping on your favorite beverage.
