How to Maintain a Healthy Vision?

Vision Care is a Priority.

By Tanvi PuniaPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

The eyes constitute the important parts of our body. Healthy eyes are quite crucial for good health and for that proper vision care is required. We should not take our eyes for granted and do whatever it takes to keep them healthy. We all rely on our eyes to see this beautiful and magnificent world and make sense of everything around us. Eyes require utmost care because some eye diseases can lead to permanent vision loss. Of course, we don't want that, do we? Getting our eyes checked regularly should be a part of our routine so that if you get the signs of any kind of eye disease, it can be cured at an early stage. We all have heard the famous saying - "Prevention is better than cure." Well, it works well here! There are certain things which you can do and follow to keep your eyes healthy and have the best sight experience. I have listed them down below!

• Maintain a Healthy Diet

Eat food rich in Omega 3 fatty acids as well as Vitamin C and Vitamin E. These nutrients are highly required to reduce the chances of cataracts development, also known as macular degeneration. Including green vegetables, eggs, citrus fruits in your diet is a great way to start and would do wonders in your health. A healthy diet also reduces the risk of diabetes which is one of the prime causes of vision loss.

• Use Protective Eyewear

Protective eyewear plays a major role in preventing all sorts of eye injuries, which have become too prominent in recent times. Keep your eyes covered with protective eyewear whether you are playing golf or hockey, doing some home improvement project, or any sort of experiment. Also, avoid touching your eyes during such situations. Avoiding making contact with your eyes would help you in the long run.

• Invest in Sunglasses

Don’t think of sunglasses just as a fashion accessory. Also, don’t pick a pair of sunglasses from any street-side shop. Rather invest in a decent pair that is anti-glared and would protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Getting exposed to UV rays to a greater extent increases the chances of cataracts. So, shop a pair with 100% UVA and UVB protection.

• Get Rid of Old Make-up Products

Bacteria grow at a much faster rate in liquid make-up than solid ones. Keep replacing your eye make-up products every 3 to 4 months to avoid the risks of eye infection. Also, never share your personal cosmetic products with anyone, and avoid trying out samples that are provided at the cosmetic stores. Clean your face and moisturize nicely before and after the use of make-up.

• Digital Detox

You must take frequent breaks from the screens whether it is your smartphone, laptop, television, or any other device. Staring at these screens for too long results in headaches, eyestrain, neck and shoulder pain, or dryness in the eyes. You should take multiple screen breaks in a day to keep your eyes healthy. Don’t watch any screen while laying down. Make sure your screen is at eye level. Also, keep your eye prescriptions, if any, updated all the time. And don’t forget to blink enough!

Keep getting regular eye screenings to keep your eyes healthy. If you are looking for eyeglass frames, eye drops and wash, or any other vision care product, TrueGether is always at your service, which has emerged out as the best eBay alternative. We don’t tend to seek any profit from our customers and thus offer you the lowest price possible because we know and value your sentiments. Get your supplies delivered at your doorsteps and get going!
