How to Keep Your Body Warm During The Winter
Effective Tricks Against the Cold
The cold season is in full swing, but most of us still dream of the sunny days of last summer, when our last concern was protection from the cold. Fortunately, there are several tricks we can use to keep us cool.
Dress in layers
The golden rule for maintaining optimal body temperature is to wear it in several thin layers. In addition, it is important to always have a scarf, a hat, and a pair of gloves on.
It is also recommended to choose our materials carefully: wool, fleece, angora, polyester - this type of material will guarantee our well-being, even on the harshest winter days. Also, don't forget about thick socks and, if necessary, thick socks.
Invest in quality winter footwear
A saying from the people sounds like this: "the cold always catches your foot", and it is very true. Therefore, it is recommended that you do not compromise on the quality of your winter footwear. Invest in a pair of winter boots or boots, made of good quality materials, to ensure the necessary comfort during the whole cold season.
You will see that this type of shoe does not require very thick socks or even two pairs of socks. So you will be able to travel anywhere easily and without the stress of the cold. In addition, the non-slip sole of a pair of quality winter shoes will protect you from the risk of slipping on the ice.
Don't rely on alcohol
Another saying goes that alcohol makes our blood boil and so we don't feel cold anymore. This is not true - alcohol does produce vasodilation, but it is this process that "steals" the heat that should reach the vital organs. Therefore, do not rely on alcohol to keep the cold away. On the other hand, avoid drinking alcohol before leaving the house to avoid the cold.
Focus on hot food and drinks
No matter how tasty the colds are, they are not good food for the cold season, precisely because they make us colder. Instead, learn to opt for foods, especially liquids, that are hot for this period, such as soups, broths, porridge, cereals, stews, and so on.
Another trick is to add a little pepper or hot pepper to the table - the spice raises the body temperature and keeps it in the parameters for a long time.
Avoid laziness
Lack of exercise not only can cause us digestive and even mental discomfort but it is also contraindicated for maintaining an optimal body temperature. Physical activity stimulates blood circulation and thus increases the body's temperature.
So try to make even a slight effort to move every two hours. Also, when you are at rest, try not to have your feet on the ground so as not to catch a cold on your feet.
Create a warm, home environment
Before winter arrives, it is a good idea to overhaul the boiler/heating system so as not to have any surprises with the installation of the cold.
Also, try to maintain a constant temperature so that your body is not subjected to thermal shocks. Be careful of neglected doors and make sure that the cold does not penetrate less visible paths, such as through windows or keyholes. You can also increase the heat in the house with an air heater or an electric fireplace.
Short deep breaths and muscle exercises
Option A) - you will inhale deeply 30 times under the chest and you will exhale smoothly. Your head will start to spin and your body will burn excess oxygen. You'll be hot, but it doesn't end there. With the last breath, you just have to hold it to the maximum without breathing. About a minute, a minute and a half.
Don't worry, your body has enough oxygen and this activates the unconscious processes that are useful. You will see that it is like a very strong espresso. When you breathe, take a deep breath and hold for another 20–30 seconds. Then take a short break and repeat 2 more times.
This is a brief introduction to the Wim Hof method (this is the guy who remained unharmed for 18 hours to the neck in the ice and meditates on the bottom of the ice) and will be useful, even when you strengthen your immunity.
If you don't want to blow like a locomotive among people, I have the B option. Spread your legs shoulder-width apart and start squeezing your toes into the ground. Squeeze your legs, knees, thighs, buttocks, tighten your abdomen, back, shoulders, stretch your neck, bite, tense your hands and prick with your fingernails.
Resist this maximum tension of the whole body for 3–5 seconds and release it as soon as possible. After ten turrets you will feel warm.
