Are You Ready To Get Back To The Office?
How to Cope With the Lack of Motivation and Concentration After the Holidays
You would do anything for memory and concentration, especially to regain your strength after a vacation. And you've probably felt, in the past years, right on your skin how hard it is for you to get back into rhythm after you get back to the office.
It is a fact that studies show that many people feel depressed or sad after the holidays, and returning to work can be quite difficult. Fortunately, there are certain steps we can take when we return to work after a well-deserved vacation to combat a lack of focus.
Give yourself time to adjust to returning to the city where you work
When booking a stay, make sure you take an extra day off to use this time to get back on track when you return home. You need time to gradually make the transition to everyday life, the pre-holiday life.
Stay hydrated
Almost everything you do on holiday will contribute to dehydration, from eating salty foods to the seafood restaurant, and drinking alcohol in the hotel bar. Let's also remember that sitting in the sun, at the beach, when the temperatures are very high outside, can dehydrate you.
So when you get back to the office, keep a bottle of water handy. So make sure you drink at least 2 liters of water a day, and if you feel you need even more fluids, you can exceed the recommended 2 liters.
Fatigue, lack of energy, and the headache you face when you return from vacation are the result of dehydration, which is aggravated by excessive alcohol consumption and lack of sleep during the holidays. So now you have an extra reason to drink more water when you return to work.
Avoid excessive coffee consumption
It's understandable why you want to maintain that holiday atmosphere when you return to the office, but the fact that you go to a bar, and the fact that you resume your consumption of coffee, the next day, at the office, will not help you much.
Coffee and alcohol will only help to dehydrate the body and prevent you from returning to your normal work rhythm. Better hydrate and drink only water, at least 8 glasses a day.
Try certain memory and concentration supplements
If you feel unmotivated and feel out of energy - even though it's only your first day or week since you returned to the office - you may need to resort to certain dietary supplements for memory and concentration. First of all, it is good to talk to your family doctor or a specialist.
If it turns out that your lack of energy still keeps your spirits down and you still feel depressed after the holidays, you may need some time to adjust to the pace of work. Try a dietary supplement that contains a group of B vitamins and natural substances that give the brain energy, such as ginseng, selenium, Omega 3, and vitamin D3.
This type of allies will give you extra energy to return to everyday office life without feeling exhausted.
Ginseng - is used to protect the nervous system and is an effective ally in improving memory1. The neuroprotective effect of ginseng can help prevent post-holiday depression, so it's a good idea to look for a supplement that contains, among other things, ginseng.
Selenium, scientists say2, can influence chemical compounds with hormonal activity in the brain, and this is why selenium is known to affect mood in humans. Ideally, you should opt for a dietary supplement that contains, in addition to ginseng, selenium, for better memory.
Omega 3 - are essential fatty acid, vital for maintaining normal brain function throughout life. They are found in abundance in the cell membranes of neurons, and studies3 show that when animals have diets without Omega 3 fatty acids, the amount of DHA (a type of Omega 3 fatty acid) in their brain decreases. Experts say that due to the lack of Omega 3 we face certain problems in terms of memory and learning.
If depression or lack of motivation persists, talk to your doctor.
If sadness, lack of concentration, and other such issues do not go away, they could be a sign of a more pronounced problem. Depression can occur at any age, and it often prevents us from enjoying the things that made us happy.
Therefore, if after returning from vacation you still face fatigue, difficulty concentrating, you notice that your memory betrays you and you have depression or sadness, it is good to talk to a psychologist or a psychotherapist to find out what determines these states.
