How to become the best version of yourself
Be the best version of yourself this coming year
We often talk ourselves into a negative mindset, saying things like, "I'm so tired." If you keep repeating that, you're essentially choosing to live a tired life. You wouldn't want to be married to someone who is always exhausted, nor would you want to be friends with someone who is perpetually fatigued. The people we truly admire are those who are energized, full of love, and have the capacity to give and share value with others.
If you’re not living your truth, don’t shout it from the rooftops. Not everyone has to share your beliefs, but I want everyone to feel valued, to know they have a purpose, and to realize there are people who care for them. By fostering this sense of connection, we can significantly reduce loneliness in the world, which would be a wonderful change.
Share what has genuinely transformed your life and what you’re actively living out; your words will carry much more weight. I believe we are suffering from a profound lack of love, perhaps the greatest epidemic of our time. This lack of love can manifest in horrific ways, like racism, stemming from feelings of unworthiness and devaluation of one another.
Many people don’t express what they want in life or who they aspire to be; they simply take life as it comes, which is both sad and disturbing. For instance, we often let friendships develop by chance, thinking, "We both like juice boxes, so let’s be friends." Instead, we should be more intentional about what we want in our friendships and lives.
Recently, I participated in an exercise with my team where we explored our true purpose. We asked ourselves why we exist, seeking answers that reflect our genuine desires rather than what we think we should say. It’s important to create a safe space with those you choose to surround yourself with, where you can be honest about your life goals and hold each other accountable.
Community is essential; I don’t believe anyone can fully realize their potential without it. You don’t need a large group; even a few right people can make a significant difference. There’s a saying: "Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future." The people you consistently surround yourself with can indicate where you’re headed.
We often become our own worst enemies, holding ourselves back out of fear of criticism. In doing so, we forget how to truly live and enjoy life. Everyone should take the time to figure out what they want, who they want to be, and how they want to spend their time. Life is a series of choices, and every moment is an opportunity to decide how you want to live.
It’s not our circumstances that dictate our lives; it’s how we respond to them. We can choose to be happy in every moment, even when faced with challenges. Life will always present obstacles, but how we approach them makes all the difference. If you tell yourself you’ll live a small, unremarkable life, you may very well create that reality. Alternatively, you can choose to see life as an opportunity to succeed, pushing past fears and insecurities.
Now is the time to seize this opportunity and recognize your potential. Your determination and hard work are essential to achieving your goals. Reflect on how much you appreciate this chance and respect the journey you’re on. Embrace the risks and become the person you aspire to be.
Prepare for struggles, but more importantly, prepare for success. Today is not the day to fail; it’s a chance to take action. Imagine a reality where you achieve everything you’ve ever wanted, believing in your potential. This mindset is crucial—it shows you that your dreams are attainable.
Your potential is your power, and it can propel you forward. Use this moment to turn your dreams into reality. Work harder than ever before because nothing comes easily. Consider how much more your life can be. Time is a valuable resource, and you have the ability to shape your future.
Think about your life as a place you inhabit; it should be more than just a space to exist. What will you do today to create positive change? Small adjustments can lead to significant transformations. For example, waking up an hour earlier or swapping a sandwich for a salad can become habits that change your life.
You have the potential to be a better version of yourself. Stand up for that role and live your life as an opportunity to succeed, lead, and take control of your decisions. Spark your motivation, be creative, and design a life where you see yourself thriving. Start your journey with courage and determination, and you will succeed.
