How Red Light Therapy Helped Me Regrow My Hair After Dutasteride Failed

I have always had thick and shiny hair since I was a kid. I loved styling my hair in different ways and getting compliments from my friends and family. My hair was one of my best features and I was proud of it.

But everything changed when I turned 25. I started noticing more and more hair on my pillow, in the shower, and on my brush. I also noticed that my hairline was receding and my scalp was becoming more visible. I was shocked and scared. What was happening to me?

I went to see a dermatologist and he diagnosed me with androgenetic alopecia, also known as female pattern hair loss. He explained that this condition is caused by the sensitivity of hair follicles to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is derived from testosterone. DHT binds to the receptors in the hair follicles and causes them to shrink, weaken, and eventually stop producing hair.

He prescribed me a medication called dutasteride, which is supposed to block the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT. He said that this would help slow down or prevent further hair loss, but it would not regrow the hair that I had already lost. He also warned me about some possible side effects, such as decreased libido, breast enlargement, and allergic reactions.

I was desperate to save my hair, so I decided to give dutasteride a try. I took it every day for six months, hoping to see some improvement. But unfortunately, I did not notice any significant difference in my hair condition. In fact, I felt worse than before. I experienced some of the side effects that the doctor had mentioned, such as low sex drive, mood swings, and weight gain. I also felt depressed and anxious about my appearance.

I decided to stop taking dutasteride and look for other alternatives. I searched online for natural remedies, supplements, shampoos, oils, and anything that claimed to help with hair loss. I spent a lot of money and time trying different products, but none of them worked for me. Some of them even made my scalp itch or burn.

I was losing hope and confidence. I hated looking at myself in the mirror or going out in public. I tried to hide my bald spots with hats, scarves, or wigs, but they were uncomfortable and unnatural. I felt like I had lost a part of myself.

One day, I came across an article about red light therapy for hair. It said that red light therapy is a non-invasive, painless, and safe procedure that uses low-level laser or LED light to stimulate blood circulation, cellular metabolism, and collagen production in the scalp. This can help improve the health and function of the hair follicles and promote hair growth.

The article also mentioned some studies that showed the effectiveness of red light therapy for various types of hair loss, such as androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, chemotherapy-induced alopecia, and telogen effluvium. It also said that red light therapy can enhance the results of other treatments, such as minoxidil, finasteride, or hair transplantation.

I was intrigued by this idea and decided to do some more research on it. I learned that red light therapy can be done at home using a device such as a red light therapy cap. A red light therapy cap is a wearable device that fits over your head and emits red or near-infrared light onto your scalp. You can use it at your convenience and comfort without having to visit a clinic or salon.

I decided to give it a try and ordered a red light therapy cap online. It arrived in a few days and I was eager to use it. The instructions said that I should use it for about 20 minutes every other day for at least three months to see optimal results.

I followed the instructions faithfully and patiently waited for any changes in my hair condition. At first, I did not notice anything different, but after a month of using the cap, I started seeing some positive signs. My hair felt softer and smoother than before. My scalp felt less dry and irritated. And most importantly, I noticed some new hairs growing on my temples and crown.

I was amazed and excited by these results. I continued using the cap for another two months and saw even more improvement. My hair became thicker and denser than before. My bald spots were covered with new hairs. My hairline was restored to its original shape.

I could not believe how much difference red light therapy made for me. It was like a miracle. I felt like I had regained my hair and my confidence.

I am so happy with my red light therapy cap that I want to share my story with anyone who is suffering from hair loss like me. If you are looking for a natural, effective, and convenient way to treat your hair loss, you may want to give red light therapy a try. It may not work for everyone, but it worked for me and it might work for you too.
