This one type of exercise format helps target body fat a lot faster

A particular mode of exercise helps you burn body fat a lot faster.

It’s intense and is used in many different formats to cater to various exercise capabilities.

These exercises have been created for many people’s enjoyment, which you can easily slip into your weekly workout routine.

The two modes of exercise we usually do are the following

Aerobic: Aerobic workouts are your stock standard, regular cardio, long duration, or perhaps running longer distances.

Our bodies produce energy with the use of oxygen.

These exercises tend to last longer than a couple of minutes in duration.

Anaerobic: Anaerobic exercises take place without oxygen.

The body produces energy without oxygen to supplement the intensity.

High-intensity exercises like HIIT, weight training, callisthenics and circuit training trigger the body to produce energy without oxygen.

Aerobic exercise helps increase our endurance — which is excellent for those who want to run a marathon or perform an activity that requires a lot of steady energy.

No energy is required for recovery after performance.

Anaerobic exercise helps increase our muscle mass & strength.

It also produces the most caloric burn because it demands more energy from the body in a shorter period.

It’s also beneficial for your cardiovascular health.

The one disadvantage is that it can be taxing on your body.

Less is more in this case.

Although I do mention this as a warning, you will get a lot more fat burn with Anaerobic exercise — if that’s what your intended goal is.

Here are five reasons you should prioritise it within your training schedule.

One: You eliminate dangerous belly fat faster

That fat accumulates inside your organs, generally hidden from sight but is extremely dangerous.

It secreted harmful inflammatory hormones, encouraging fat gain, making us more susceptible to diseases.

Training mechanisms such as interval training improve the enzymes involved in fat metabolisation and breakdown.

Anaerobic also increases your oxygen consumption during the 24 hour recovery period.

When this takes place, your body begins restoration and repairs damaged tissue.

In addition, this increase in oxygen means your body is burning calories faster and for more extended periods.

Two: You get leaner faster

Although it does help you lean up faster, don’t stop eating wholesome & nourishing food.

Nutrition is essential for recovering from your training efforts and fueling your body.

Results will depend on your particular diet strength and consistency, as well as the amount you lift over time.

It would be ideal to think about this when determining your body composition goals.

As we said above, anaerobic training increases your oxygen consumption, leading to fat loss.

As a result, your body begins to improve its metabolic efficiency, using fat as a source of fuel.

Three: It helps eliminate stress, making you more relaxed and calm

What has this got to do with getting lean?

Well, it plays a considerable part.

Cortisol is a stress hormone; you need some form of stress to motivate you. We all have to get out of bed at some stage.

When you exhaust your cortisol levels due to an overabundance of stress or a sedentary lifestyle, it can lead to fat accumulation, mainly around the belly area.

This increases your chances of developing health issues and further increases your body’s ability to accumulate fat stores.

Weight and interval training are efficient at solving this problem.

They improve release hormones like testosterone (yes, ladies, we have some of that too), helping you recover physically and cope with psychological stress.

You have probably experienced this as an active individual. Generally, after a workout, stress seems to melt away.

The goal is to keep exercise a high priority and use it as a stress and anxiety reliever.

Although you may not feel like doing anything at times, you will be glad you did it afterwards.

Four: Not only will you lose weight, but you will improve your performance

Having the ability to enhance your body’s uptake of oxygen allows you to sustain a higher pace, reducing your overall time within a given distance.

Exercising this way is excellent for endurance athletes and those embarking on some form of the event — or perhaps you have a specific goal to achieve.

You will also notice that it takes more effort to accumulate that nasty lactic acid built upon the muscles.

It’s fantastic news for anyone trying to achieve longer and more powerful performance without sacrificing time spent recovering.

Having sore muscles while training is hard work.

Overall, your fitness will increase exponentially, and you will be able to pivot your goals towards a competitive level.

If this is your dream, why not start planning now.

Five: You will re-shape your body faster

From personal experience, cardio does nothing to alter my body shape.

Instead, I’ve found my body retains more water due to my immune system’s response.

Weights, on the other hand, have completely transformed my physique.

As I train more & keep a watchful eye on my nutrition, I become stronger and leaner.

Developing lean muscle mass is the by-product of training; focusing on conditioning is key to changing your body shape.

If you must do some form of cardio, make it low intensity walking, and throw in HIIT once or twice a week. Just don’t walk so long that you become exhausted in the process.

Key Take-Aways

Weight training is superior in many ways, as you have probably noticed in this post.

Committed efforts with nutrition and exercise will get you the best results.

You might require a little bit of trial and error once you start to understand what works best for your body.

Some people work well with a bit more cardio.

If you lose muscle mass quickly (like me), you would be more suitable for a conditioning program, with very low to moderate cardio — allowing you to tap into any fat reserves slowly, without sacrificing muscle mass.
