Family-Owned Chiropractic Clinic Committed to Providing Care During COVID-19 Outbreak
For some small businesses, it is all about keeping things in the family. And this is just what McAuliffe Chiropractic Office is doing, with three family docs under one room, the McAuliffe Family is committed to keeping other families in their community healthy and pain-free.
When it comes to honoring our important essential workers, many of us think of the doctors, the nurses, the delivery drivers and the grocery store workers who have to go into work to keep our society up and running. But many people don’t think about the essential workers behind those on the front lines. The ones who are working to keep everyone pain free amidst the pandemic.
McAuliffe Chiropractic Office is one of those essential businesses, working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep people healthy and out of pain, while adopting new tactics and procedures that align with CDC standards. A small business first, this family-owned office is also dealing with the economic backlash of our recent quarantine, but they are staying open with business hours at normal to make sure that no one in their Laurel, Maryland community has to give up this essential healthcare service. And they are happy to continue to provide care to first responders, medical staff, nurses, firefighters and police officers, as well as parents and stressed work from homers—all who want to stay out of pain during these unprecedented times.
A Staple in Laurel, MD Since 1988
When the Governor of Maryland mandated that only essential businesses stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic—McAuliffe Chiropractic Office was on the list. This office has been an integral part of their close-knit Laurel community since they first opened their doors in 1988. Laurel, a city in Prince George’s County and a popular D.C. suburb has a number of patients who need chiropractic care to help with everything from sports injuries to car accidents, stiff necks to low back pain from sitting at a desk all day—and everything in between.
And McAuliffe Chiropractic is there to treat virtually any musculoskeletal issue under the sun using safe and effective spinal manipulations. While chiropractic care has long been a popular treatment for those with whiplash injuries and a staple in professional sports—now, more people than ever are seeking chiropractic care for their regular aches, pain and injuries. Some of the most common reasons patients are making appointments for their adjustments include low back pain, headaches, exercise-related-injuries, slip and fall accidents and even conditions like sciatica.
Amid the Coranvirus outbreak, many of these patients are needing care, and are wanting to stay out of the crowded hospitals that are focusing their attention on the virus. While low back pain is normally one of the most common reasons for adults to go to the emergency room—now many people are visiting chiropractors, like McAuliffe Chiropractic Office, to limit their potential exposure to the virus. According to the doctors at McAuliffe Chiropractic, this also provides relief for the Emergency Room doctors and nurses, who need to focus their attention on sick patients, while these chiropractors focus on what they do best.
A True Family-Run Business
When it comes to running a business, the doctors here at McAuliffe Chiropractic Office know a thing or two about keeping it in the family. The original McAuliffe Chiropractic Office opened in the Saint Louis area in 1923, and since then has grown, and now features several branches and family offices around the country.
Today, the fifth generation of McAuliffe Chiropractors are taking care of patients in Laurel. While Dr. Terence McAuliffe still runs the practice, his two sons, Dr. Terence Jr. and Dr. Conner are following in his footsteps and working to provide continuous care to those living in and around the city of Laurel. And while many are looking to support small businesses in their community during these uncertain times, this small business is staying focused on what they’ve been doing for decades—keeping people feeling their best.
