Falling Faceted (3/3)

Love at First Sight

"Scent of Love" by Monica Stewart

Sovereign soliloquies slash through lush jungle brush of emotion, charting courses wide enough to guide alpine streams Our way; the proceeding valley will be the birthplace of everything forthcoming. Experience's philosophy upholds fabrics and stitching for reality. Only their dearest seamstress defected long ago, a single glance into Our cosmic energy provoked its freest thought; 'weave them with memories of Source in order to reawaken Divine Love.'

Entities previously antipathetic to the abhorrent atmosphere now freely saunter among Us, lending their benevolence upon life We made; Hope delivers her favor withholding any subsequent naivete. Perseverance absolved any trace of detrimental foolishness. Many light cycles passed while This reconstruction occurred, many sacrifices took place on This plane before reaching This point; We wouldn't dare allow them to be in vain.

Prevailing took conditions as all magick does, Our leverage is an unconditional existence; Harmony ultimately knows a Life that neither shames nor curses her. A safe space for sadistically sought-after bastards. We allow her to amplify Our resonance, accepting This high frequency in exchange for the blessings she presides over; Our truest equivalent exchange.

Author’s Extras:

Love is one of, if not THE, strongest of inspiration sources that drive creativity. Though all sense of creativity derives from passion, love’s interpretation of passion holds a special place in divine order. When I saw this challenge posed for the idea of ‘love at first sight,’ I immediately knew how I wanted to interpret. For weeks I saturated myself in 70s-80s love ballads and enjoyed every bass-strumming minute of it. I was invoking the feeling of a deeply sought after love that was written into most of the soul and r&b during this era. The kind of love Bobbi Humphrey, Weldon Irvine and Leon Ware wrote about. Their respective songs “Please Set Me at Ease,” “Morning Sunrise” and “Holiday” are what I’d like to dedicate to the three editions of this “Falling Faceted” trilogy.

As all interpretation begins subjective, so does my reasoning for the title choice. ‘Love at first sight’ is almost objectively a good thing for the person whose whose heart’s strings played the C chord. Obsession kicks in almost instantly in a way I colorfully wrote in “Falling Faceted”(1/3). Knowing these two universals alone, I begin to interpret how an unrequited love reacts to our challenge at hand. Hence, a different side of things. Hence…faceted. I like to believe I’m clever.

There’s magick in this prophetic trilogy. Despite being a naturally private person who consequently reflects the viewers own security on to them, I did not hide anything in the writing. Patterns are ever-present to those with an open eye. The pattern of procrastination (which I even wrote about in “A Million Excuses”) led me to a submission block for this trilogy’s conclusion, “Falling Faceted (3/3).” In light of the short version being unapproved, though, I am able to write this post-script. Magick works funny like that.

Special thanks to all those around me living a lifestyle inspired and supported by the arts. To my Mom, for always finding time to embrace your creative side. From music, to party planning, to digital art, to the physical art of yoga, you’ve shown me that a love for expression can be for the direct benefit of others. To my brother, Malik, for always leaving keys on the artists’ journey, all the while being on your own journey. To your family as well, for showing me a strong example of a creative space that is constantly in use. To my sister, Phebe, for being certain that your path is to incorporate your art into a chosen career. You all help solidify my beliefs that this lifestyle is achievable.
