Ancient Knowledge to Reduce Weight and Stress
Could this be the key?
I was watching an episode of ‘The Simpsons’ recently. I love The Simpsons, and Bart was being threatened and bullied by the school bully ‘Nelson’, as usual. Bart grows in his hatred of the bully because Nelson takes his lunch money and lunch each day.
But, Bart, being the resourceful rebel that he is, happens upon a plan to fatten Nelson up, by giving him vouchers for Krusty Burgers, the fatty fast food franchise of Springfield that symbolizes a well-known fast-food global franchise.
Bart watched a movie at school. A documentary that showed that a diet of fatty fast food leads to obesity and depression. Bart figured if he could entice the school bully (who is not the brightest bulb in the pack), to become morbidly obese, then he would be too tired to bully kids.
The scene of a bloated rotund Nelson wanting to drink the fat in which they made the burgers got me thinking about what Nelson symbolised. He symbolized the western fatty fast food diet that has conquered western society and is making big inroads into eastern societies too.
As I continued to watch the Simpsons, a scene stuck in my mind, a scene of a morbidly obese cartoon character being drip fed fatty chicken nuggets. The fatty lumps of processed poultry entering his arm via a drip tube.
That scene was a perfect depiction of the junk we eat, and the inflammation and disease it causes, from cancers, to heart disease, diabetes and others.
Convenience, taste and gut-fill reign supreme in our fast-paced but nutritionally lazy lives. Stress exacerbates the eating, which then fuels the inflammation resulting in disease and ultimately an inferior quality of life and premature death.
Getting to the root of the problem

With stress reduction comes the reduction in cortisol levels, which are a key trigger of weight accumulation.
Surely the stress and obesity relationship was conceived in the very pits of hell, couple that with junk food, and we have the perfect cocktail of death.
