1. Exercise Regularly

Exercising daily for at least 20-30 minutes can improve and strengthen our body's immune systems. Exercise also helps in improving and maintaining a healthy weight, regulating our digestive systems and maintaining and building body muscles.

Scientific research also suggest that a regular exercise and physical activity are vital for our body. It helps in improving the mood, anxiety and relieving depression by self-management strategy specially in those with anxiety disorder.

Physical activity helps you to achieve improved physical health, life satisfaction, cognitive functioning, and psychological well-being.

Exercise and physical activities delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body tissues and helps your circulatory system, which comprises the heart and blood vessels system, work more efficiently.

Meditation is one of the best tool to relieve stress and anxiousness. The practice can help you to redirect your racing thoughts, lower the anxiety level and calm down the stressed brain.

Meditation helps in improving the awareness and focused attention and fuel inner peace in our body and mind.

Yoga is a physical postures exercise practiced to achieve physical and mental wellness. Pranayam is the main component of yoga. Prana means breath or life force and aayam means control. That by practicing pranayam - by inhaling, exhaling and holding of breath, it is possible to achieve higher state of awareness and mindfulness.

Our body contain thousands of subtle energy channels called as nadis which connect at special point of intensity or energy center called as chakras.

Prana (control of breath) creates an aura around our body and fuels vital energy in the body which flows through these energy channels and chakras.

The way it is practiced can determines one state of mind and awareness.

4. Eat healthy food

Foods are vital for our body system to function properly. The kind of food we eat determines our body's functionality.

Food contains proteins, carbohydrate, fat and nutrients, vital for sustaining growth and furnish energy in the body.

Avoid eating too much junk food. these foods are generally high in calorie, sugar or fat which are unhealthy for our body and can lower body's resistance to certain disease. Instead use foods that are rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are essentials to our body and immune systems.

5. Avoid or lower your alcohol consumption.

Cut down on your alcohol consumption to boost the body's immune response and resistance to certain respiratory disease. Alcohol can damage our lung and gut and can impair our immune cells which are responsible for our immune function.

“Alcohol consumption is associated with a range of communicable and noncommunicable diseases and mental health disorders, which can make a person more vulnerable to COVID-19. In particular, alcohol compromises the body’s immune system and increases the risk of adverse health outcomes,” - WHO.

6. Have a good sleep pattern

A good night's sleep plays a vital roll in our body's functionality. It helps in reliving stress and anxiety level after all day's work and enthusiasm and can keep us fresh and energetic.

It is in fact incredibly important for our health and body's digestive systems.

As per The National Sleep Foundation recommendation, a good sleep pattern for the most adults are between 7 and 9 hours each night and that for older adults over 65 years of age are between 7 and 8 hours.

Creating a good sleep pattern - that is going to bed early and waking up early at the same time everyday - can improve our improve our immune function significantly.
