15 Best Home Remedies for Heart Burn and Indigestion

Heart burn and indigestion are the two most common ailments of mankind. Home remedies to cure them are most often very natural and simple. It is recommended that all of us should learn them to treat ailments caused by indigestion. Below are home remedies to cure heart burn and indigestion. But be sure to do your own research before using them.

1. Hot Water

Put 2 cups of hot water in a pan with about ½ tsp of ginger root. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Wait for about 5 minutes for the water to cool. Gently strain the hot water through a clean cloth to get the ginger root. To keep the ginger root, put the cloth over a bowl and cover it with a lid. The next time, whenever you want a hot ginger drink, just cut a piece of ginger root and use this tea to warm up your stomach.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Take 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Mix in a pinch of salt. Put the bowl in a pan of boiling water, and wait for it to cool. Once cool, pour the apple cider vinegar over a glass of water to drink. It also works as a heartburn and indigestion remedy.

3. Peppermint Leaves

Peppermint leaves, when crushed, are very good in curing indigestion. Place the crushed peppermint leaves in a dish. Make a thin layer of rock salt on top of the crushed peppermint leaves. Put a few cups of hot water into the dish and stir it well. Wait for the water to cool and strain it through a clean cloth to get the crushed peppermint leaves. Pour the tea over a glass of water. This tea is recommended for indigestion and heartburn relief.

4. Salt

Fill a glass with warm water. Put a pinch of salt into the glass and add a bit of lemon. Stir it well and drink it within 2 minutes. Lemon juice adds flavor to salt water. This drink is considered to be one of the natural remedies for heartburn and indigestion.

5. Peppermint tea

Make peppermint tea from peppermint leaves. Take 2-3 cups of hot water and add 2-3 tbsp of peppermint leaves. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat. Wait for it to cool to room temperature. Filter out the leaves and drink it for effective heartburn and indigestion relief.

Home Remedies to Cure Indigestion:

1. Carrots

Cut a carrot in to slices, and then slice the slices into a fine strips. Add the carrot strips to a small pot and fill it with a cup of apple cider vinegar. Cook the carrots over a fire or in the oven for about 10-15 minutes. Once cooked, strain out the carrot mixture through a clean cloth. Pour the apple cider vinegar over a glass of water and drink it as a cure for heartburn and indigestion.

2. Cucumbers

Slices of cucumber are said to be one of the best indigestion treatments. Wash the cucumber slices and dip them into cold water. Once this is done, cut off the ends of the cucumber slices. Once they are cut, put them in a pot and pour in a cup of apple cider vinegar. Cook the cucumber slices over a fire or in the oven for about 10-15 minutes. Once cooked, strain out the cucumber slices through a clean cloth and pour the apple cider vinegar over a glass of water and drink it for effective indigestion relief.

3. Green tea

Fill a glass with a handful of green tea leaves and add a bit of honey. Cover the glass with a lid and wait for a couple of minutes. Turn the glass upside down to drain out the liquid. Keep it on a table to drink as a heartburn and indigestion cure.

4. Ginger

Peel a piece of ginger root and grind it into a smooth paste. Put a little salt into the paste, and mix it well. Pour in a glass of water and add honey. Stir well and drink. It is a heartburn and indigestion treatment which takes less than 5 minutes to make.

5. Almond

Take a handful of almonds and boil them in a pot of water. When the almonds are boiled and softened, remove the pot from the fire. Add a pinch of salt and stir it well. Drain the almonds well by pouring them over a plate or over a clean cloth. Put the strained almonds into a dish, and add a bit of honey. Add some vinegar to the almonds and mix them well. Keep this drink in a dish to drink as a heartburn and indigestion cure.

6. Celery

Cut a small piece of celery and then chop it into small pieces. Cook it in a pot with some salt. Strain out the celery mixture into a clean cloth and keep it for later use. Add some honey and a bit of lemon juice. Mix them well. Drink this mixture whenever you feel like indigestion.

7. Milk

Put 1 glass of milk in a pan and put it on a fire. Once it boils, turn off the fire and keep it over the fire to let the steam evaporate. Pour the milk into a glass and drink. It works as a cure for heartburn and Indigestion.

8. Potato

Peel a potato and cut it into tiny pieces. Cook them in a pan with a little bit of salt. Strain out the pieces and place them in a bowl. Add a bit of lemon juice and mix it well. Keep this drink in a bowl and eat it whenever you feel like heartburn and indigestion.

9. Onion

Take 2-3 slices of onion and crush them. Put some salt in a pot and add the crushed onion slices. Cook the mixture for about 10-15 minutes. Strain out the onion mixture and add some honey. Mix them well. Drink this onion mixture whenever you feel like indigestion.

10. Garlic

Put a garlic clove in a pan and put some honey in it. Cook the garlic for about 15 minutes or until it is soft. Strain out the garlic cloves and add some salt. Keep the garlic cloves in a dish and put them over a fire to evaporate the water. Remove the garlic cloves and mix them well. Drink the garlic cloves when you feel like indigestion.
