What Do You Gift Yourself?

From Conditioned Living to Conscious Choosing

By Richard GöbelPublished 6 months ago 4 min read

What I keep noticing more and more… is how easily people spend money on things. New phones. Clothes. Gadgets. But when it comes to investing in their health, suddenly you're seen as some kind of "tree hugger." Suddenly everything is “too expensive.”

But how can something be expensive if it’s an investment in yourself? I work with colleagues all over the world. And in network marketing, “talking pretty” is often the norm.

But honestly? That’s not my strength. Or better yet: I choose not to make it my strength. Why would I compromise my authenticity? Maybe I don’t say things in the smoothest way… But I am honest. Real. No fluff.

There’s a Taoist saying:

“Beautiful words are not true, and true words are not beautiful.”

So, let me be blunt:

The most valuable things you can own are time and your health.

Without those two, everything else becomes… relative. What I’ve also noticed is that a lot of people live in denial. Deep down, they know things could be better.

But they hold on to old habits. I also see how many people don’t allow themselves the best. Since starting my personal development journey, I’ve become more aware of my own patterns.

  • Why do I say what I say?
  • Why do I act the way I do?
  • Why do I react like that?

I discovered: life isn’t about what you know or what you can do. That’s all learnable. But awareness… that’s something you grow into. Today, people call that “woke.” But to me, the so-called “woke crowd” gave that word a bad name.

I don’t believe in feeling superior to others or pointing fingers at what you think is “wrong.”

There’s no right or wrong.

There’s just what is.

If something isn’t your choice, that doesn’t automatically make it a bad choice. To me, awareness is something else. It’s waking up. Truly seeing what’s going on.

“Nothing is what it seems, isn’t it Gunny?

The moment you think you’ve got it figured out, you’re wrong.”

(Movie quote that hit home.)

As you grow, a gap can form between you and those who aren’t (yet) growing in the same way. Does that mean I’m putting myself on a pedestal?

You’re free to think that.

What I’ve noticed is that it’s harder for me to adjust to people who aren’t on the same wavelength anymore. I used to adjust. It came at a cost: me. Now, I choose differently.

I respect people as they are.

But respecting someone’s choices doesn’t mean I have to shape my life around them. Choices have consequences. And if you don’t like the consequences? Then it’s time to make different choices. No one else can do that for you.

So here’s my challenge to you:

Are you truly satisfied with the results in your life? If not… What could you change? What do you want to change? That could be about your work.

  • Your friendships.
  • Your freedom.
  • Your finances.
  • Your health.
  • Your happiness.
  • Or your love life.

I chose myself.

A path toward financial freedom.

And I want to share that with you.

I’ve become aware of how conditioned we are. More than you realise. From birth, we’re shaped — first by our environment, then by the school system. Now that I’m 55, I see it clearly:

We’re taught math, language, biology… But no one teaches us how to think for ourselves. No one teaches self-reliance. Kids think nowadays money comes out of the wall, but they have no idea how it got in there.

We’re trained to study… And then obediently work for a boss. Until we’re “allowed” to retire.

Yes — allowed.

Because when your employer no longer needs you, you become dependent on government support. That too… is conditioning. Now imagine if you were taught how to create your own income… You’d be financially independent. Untouchable. But again, awareness is missing. I hope you are aware now. We exchange time for money. And when you stop working… the income stops.

And for many people, that income is never enough for the life they actually want. If you accept that after reading this, know that you are living a conditioned life. I’m not playing that game. I don’t mind working hard, but on my own terms.

When I want, where I want, how I want.

I’m building residual income, money that continues to flow, even when I take time off. And I want to help build a better world. I do that by sharing my story and doing work that lights me up. I don’t do anything because I “should.” I work with international teams. I help people create residual income, and put their health and vitality at the top of their list.

Not for you… but with you.

And finally:

Be gentle with yourself.

Gift yourself the best.

Put yourself first before you do anything for someone else.

That’s not selfish.

That’s love in action.

Because what can you give to another…

If you’re not okay yourself?

So…

What do you gift yourself? Let me know.

Health? Freedom? Energy? Love?

It all starts with one conscious choice.

Let me know when you’re ready.

A like is appreciated. A share is love. ❤️
