Things to do in quarantine
That are not just Netflix and chill!
Hello lovely People!
Quarantine Day: 38
we are all going through this difficult, stressful and tough time but remember we are in this together and this too shall pass. So take a moment and breath a little more (actually don't, you might catch up something).
Just kidding! I hope you cope up with my sarcasm.
Well, if we are stuck at home, why not to use this time to do things we always wanted to do but didn't have time for or maybe we were procrastinating all our lives.
So in today’s post I am sharing 8 ways to fill your time productively, all of which I have been working on. Use this time for self care and personal growth!
1. Take up an online course
There is an online course for everything. My suggestions for the best websites for online courses are: Skillshare, Pluralsight, edX, Coursera, Alison, and Udemy.
2. Start a hobby
Find something that interests you, it can be literally anything. My suggestion is to learn how to cook, read a book, do some gardening, learn a new language, start journalising your thoughts or do some DIY home decor.
Just start with whatever you have.
3. Home Workouts
Just because the gym is closed (or you are responsibly not going), doesn’t mean you need to be out of shape. One of my favorite quote from the movie Legally Blonde states that “Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, Happy people just don’t shoot their family members.” There are tons of beginners workout videos out there. Go, give them a try, I'm sure you will love them (after a week though).
Suggestions: Cure.fit, Healthify me, Aaptiv, SworkIt.
4. Pick up Meditation
In this unpredictable yet stressful time it is very important to de-clutter your mind to make it stress free and what could be better than meditation. Do not force yourself for more just start with 5 mins of regular practice then increase gradually and soon you are going to love it, saying it from my personal experience.
5. Keep your skin and hair healthy
In our busy schedules we usually do not get time for those DIY skin care and hair masks but this is the time to give all those things a try. Also, while at home try to avoid putting make-up on, you’re not going out anyway so you might as well focus on cleaning your skin and keeping it make-up free. And if you are a lazy person (like me) just grab that face mask that is sitting in the back of the closet, or your favorite toner and put it to great use.

6. Read a book or a Book series!
To be honest I'm not a very big fan of reading, but I do sometimes read and it's kinda therapeutic. Actually, instead of reading a standalone book, read a series. Book series will keep you entertained for longer. Some of my favorite series are: Clifton series, Harry potter series, Gone Girl and Me before you ( all of them are available on Amazon)
Audible and Storytel (trial version) are great options for audio books.
7. Start a savings plan!
Do you have something you’ve been meaning to save for, but just haven’t found the time to plan it or discipline to actually start? Now’s the time. That dream vacation or dream your car isn’t going to pay for yourself. Figure out how much money you can realistically put toward your savings goal each month.
8. Start a Blog!
I started a blog! Obviously, that's why you are reading this article. you can do it too. Honestly there is not much investment and if you love writing, it's a great way to enjoy your side hustle. Though it takes a lot of time and dedication to make money out of it but why not give it a try.
Hopefully you found these things to do while social distancing to be helpful during these crazy times!
Remember: I know it’s difficult to avoid reading the news and checking every 10 minutes how many new cases have appeared because of the corona virus but don’t consume too much information regarding the virus because it can really affect your mental health.
Stay safe and healthy, and I hope you find this post helpful and inspiring.
