The Art of Luck

Manifesting good fortune and a more exciting life.

Up until the last few months, I have not classified myself as a lucky person. In fact, my luck has been so bad over the last few years that I have gained the nickname ‘Jonah,’ from my colleagues at work.

I would often begin my shift with the best of intentions, but more often than not, would sit down and all hell would break loose! Now, it wouldn’t be so bad if I had a normal office job; I mean, how bad can it get typing up some reports and visiting the photocopier. But I happen to be an Emergency Dispatch Controller! So, if you happen to have seen the movies ‘Armageddon,’ or ‘The Day After Tomorrow,’ just imagine that’s a typical day when I’m on duty. Or at least it was….

One day, I was driving my brand new car (I’d had it two whole days!) when a shard of wood came out of nowhere and went straight through the sidewall of my tyre. Without emotion, I pulled over to the roadside, let out a tragic sigh and called recovery. They told me it would be three hours!

Dwelling over yet another ‘Jonah’ disaster, I turned to my phone for solace and typed; ‘why am I so unlucky.’

Well, it turned out it was my fault all along! The issue wasn’t that I was just an unlucky person generally, but my own continuous expectancy of unfortunate events was actually manifesting my own bad luck. This phenomenon appears to be known in the scientific world as; ‘negative cognitive bias.’

So from that moment, I decided to take control of my own destiny. I would no longer be the harbinger of doom. I tried as hard as possible to push all the bad luck thoughts away and think good luck thoughts instead. I even started chanting aloud; ‘you are a lucky person. You will always be lucky. Good fortune will fall at your feet…’

…and well, what do you know! as I was still performing my best impression of Cameron Vale from the movie ‘Scanners’, the recovery guy pulled up; Two hours early! Now, I almost dismissed this piece of good fortune as coincidence, but then something made me hang on to the thought; ‘you made him appear. You manifested him.’

Nonsense you say? Well, hang on…

As an experiment, I decided that in order to test this ‘theory of luck,’ I would start entering some competitions online. This was something I had done in the past, but despite multiple attempts over a long period of time, I’d never won so much as a balloon.

I continued to practise my good luck thoughts religiously, but after a month, still nothing. But I couldn’t give in. It was as though I was willing the change to happen. Then out of the blue, a text message; ‘Congratulations! You have won a £500 shopping voucher.’

I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK! IT WAS THE BIGGEST PRIZE I HAD EVER WON IN MY LIFE!!

It really was a big deal. It was Christmas time, and money was tight. This would pay for the lot.

Since then, I have become a true believer in LUCK MANIFESTATION. I spend time every day thinking thoughts of luck and what I would like to have most; not only for myself, but my family and friends as well. I listen to audio hypnosis 20 mins before bed each night, which helps to attach affirmations of good fortune into my psyche. I have constructed a little shrine of lucky charms including energy stones on my desk, which you can see below, and also use ‘Oracle cards,’ (another prize that I won) to help guide me. They’re great!

I know many readers may be sceptical, but I have become a true believer. What I can tell you for definite, is that since I began this process less than one year ago, I have won a total of 34 competitions totalling around £4000 in cash value! Next week I’m taking the family to a theme park for two days, with hotel and meals included.

I don’t think I will be lucky any more. I know I will be!

What a brilliant turnaround! From "Jonah" to jackpot, your journey into the art of luck is inspiring and just plain fun to read. PS: If your luck-rubbin’ shrine has any spare magic, I’d like to request a winning lottery ticket. Just saying.
