I Replaced my Traditional Cleaning Products with Eco-Friendly Products for One Week, and Here's What Happened. Top Story - January 2021. Created with: Cleancult.
I’ve always loved the way my home smells and feels after a good deep-cleaning. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as walking completely barefoot on squeaky-clean floors, pulling on a pair of ultra-soft sweatpants from the clean laundry, and having no dirty dishes in the sink. I love the feeling of walking by my mirrors and not seeing a single speck of dust on them, either! The one thing that I’ve never really been a fan of though, is the cleaning process itself. As someone who is sensitive to a lot of fragrances, dyes and perfumes (along with many other harsh chemicals that are typically found in traditional cleaning products), I’ve always struggled to find a cleaning product line that meets all of my needs. I’ve also been learning about the negative environmental impacts that many cleaning products can have, and let me tell you, there’s a lot.

Backyard Wilderness
I share my cozy corner with a number of others, they're mostly quiet although sometimes they get too noisy, particularly the heavy caws of the crows and the unremitting gurgles of the pigeons that have found a food source now the city areas are quiet. The cozy corner is many things: a place to relax, to write, to dream, to exercise, to observe, to re-wild but also a place of the mundane – the washing line stands front and centre, reminding always of the never ending drudgery of housework.

The Green Source of Energy
Solar Power, a renewable source of energy, is one of the most available sources on Earth. However, being an intermittent source of energy, it needs to be enhanced by storage or another energy source. Even though solar energy systems nowadays still have low average efficiencies, due to modern technology, research is being put into developing high-efficient and low-cost systems daily. Using solar energy is beneficial because it allows a more environmentally friendly or a "greener" way of living. It is also a freely available resource, which is one of its many advantages as once installed and does not cost more than the cost of setting up and routine maintenance.

Painting Over Scars & Bruises
I’ve moved 21 times in my 23 years of life, 8 different cities across 4 states and 2 countries. Having moved so often it’s near impossible to feel rooted in anything. My friends were a rotating door of kind souls who I could never get attached to. The topography in which I grew up was in a constant state of change, whether I was surrounded by tall buildings or vast plains. As a child in this constant state of instability, the foundation of my sanity came from the arrangement of familiar items in my room.
