Take advantage of public transportation.
Before you start making a list of what not to buy, consider taking public transportation instead of driving your own car. You can use the subway, auto-rickshaws, taxis, e-rickshaws, and even short walks to get around. You emit fewer car emissions, spend no money on gasoline, and don't have to worry about maintaining a vehicle.
Get rid of it.
We all have a tendency to acquire items that "may come in handy" or for a "just in case scenario," but if you haven't used something in months, get rid of it.
Donate the surplus.
Too many clothes, kitchenware, such as plastic storage bins, and books to read... All of them should be donated. You'll feel a lot better. Sit down and make a list of everything you don't need. Be honest with yourself, and make someone else happy.
Purchase only what is absolutely necessary.
Stop stockpiling makeup, shower gels, and lotions. You don't need as many as you think. First, make use of what you already have before investing on new items. During big deals, you can also stock up on everything for the entire year and then not buy anything else.
Invest in memorable experiences.
Invest in experiences rather than petty things that don't truly matter, because life is only rich with those moments. Travel, hike, try new sports, and so on.
Invest on versatile tools.

Take only what you need.
Pack light whenever you go on a trip. Take only what you need, such as a pair or two of comfortable pants, one flip flop, one pair of sport shoes, a thin cotton towel, and so on.

You'll want to practice simplicity on a regular basis once you start living a simple lifestyle. After all, why spend time emptying people and things from your life if you're just going to re-clutter and rubbish it? Backe recommends keeping a journal and developing a habit.
"Becoming a minimalist is a process that involves both internal and external factors," he explains. "Start a thankfulness notebook or develop a list of things you wish to do and begin crossing them off. You should also examine your daily routine to see what aspects of your life you can change to decrease your weight," says Seferian.
"It's critical that you simplify your calendar and avoid saying yes to obligations that you can avoid simply because you feel bad about saying no." Only say yes if you absolutely want to" or, of course, if you have no choice.
Naturally, some duties must be accomplished and some appointments cannot be postponed, which means you can't just call your boss and say you're sick. However, you may (and should) put your health first.
"Determine what parts of your daily routine can be simplified, and adjust your schedule accordingly," Backe says. "Whether it's halving your morning makeup routine or reading a book instead of scrolling through your phone over breakfast," Backe says.
