My Favorite Vitamin and Supplement Brands
Based on Personal Use and Experience

One thing I absolutely wouldn’t consider myself is a “brand snob.” Some people, in my opinion, are disturbingly loyal to certain car makers, fashion brands, phone makers… and I am not at all interested in being a brand groupie. That being said, there is a difference between being a “brand snob” and someone who has come to trust specific companies through research, real experience and things that actually have some level of importance rather than which celebrity or influencer hawks a product or how cool the advertising seems. And when talking about products that you actually put inside your body and intend to use for better health, it just matters more.
With that being the case, as someone who has taken a number of vitamins and supplements for years, I thought I would share some of my favorite brands. This is not because I’m getting anything out of it (which I am not) but rather that maybe it will actually benefit you.
Nature’s Way
I started off with their products years ago with an immune booster called “System Well” and have since come across a number of their items that seem to be top-quality. They aren’t the cheapest brand out there but they certainly are not the highest-priced option either.
Nature Made
This company boasts that it is one of the only vitamin and supplement brands that actually has certification from a nutritional authority, USP. While vitamins and supplements are not approved through the Food and Drug Administration in the United States, USP (which stands for U.S. Pharmacopeia) is the closest thing.
In addition to being relatively affordable as well as USP approved, the Nature Made brand is widely available. You can find their products at nearly any grocery store, pharmacy or superstore. Not many brands can say that.
Just in case you are wondering, I use this brand for Flax Seed Oil gelcaps.
21st Century
I first came across 21st Century at a slightly upscale grocery store while trying to find a form of acidophilus that did not need to be refrigerated after opening. At the time, that wasn’t a really common thing.
The prices are extremely affordable, and with most of the products I’ve discovered, a single pill/chewable/caplet will be all you need for your daily routine. That makes things easy and convenient, and each bottle lasts a long time,
I currently use this for probiotics and other digestive health items as well as a Vitamin B Complex. By the way, the chewable Papaya Enzyme actually tastes good too!
Puritan’s Pride
A while back I was looking for something to help promote eye health and good vision. I found out the supplement lutein is one of the top options. When setting out on the journey to find a good lutein supplement, I came across Puritan's Pride.
This brand is similar in price to Nature Made, making it slightly more prickly than some like store brands and other generics but far less expensive than others.
My experience with the brand has been good.
A Couple of Other Brands I Am Looking Into
There are a few other brands I have either just started out with or am researching and feel pretty positive about so far. These would include Kaya Naturals and Double Woods Supplements. Kaya Naturals, like Nature’s Way, offers a comprehensive immune booster with a lower price tag, at least for now. And when it comes to getting your full complement of fruits and vegetables into your diet, Double Woods offers a natural and tested option at a fraction of the price of the one sold by Balance of Nature that you might have seen plastered all over your TV screen.
Overall, the key is to do your research, read trusted review sources and don’t ever just think that because it’s more expensive it’s better, or that some celebrity should be your health guide.
