Mom Hack with Jen: Freezer Foods.

Mom Hack

By Jennifer La WrightPublished 2 years ago 3 min read

It’s been a long time I haven’t written on my blogs. I’ve been busy with my life and taking care of my husband Ryan, and our baby boy Aaron. My husband has been working. We are on a one salary income. Most likely, it’s hard to type a good blog when I’m a full-time stayed-home-parent. It’s best for me to wake up early or when my child is going to bed and start writing. I’m hoping to get a chair and desk later in the future. I have written a lot of blogs but never got the chance to post them in the past. I am hoping to post them up during this year. That’s what has been going on during 2022, 2023, and a little bit of this year.

We have two separate blogs. We have this one on here and the other one is on https://everythingisgoingtobeallwright.blogspot.com/. On blogspot.com, we post about our family adventures.

The kitchen hack that I want to share is frozen food packages. In 2021, when I got engaged to Ryan, we decided to go look for home. Before moving into our new home, we had one small freezer connected to our fridge. Both of us enjoyed eating T.V. dinners, frozen treats, and etc. There are days I don’t like to cook. We were loaded with meat when my sister-in-law Holly asked us if we wanted parts of a cow. Examples are hamburger meat, T-bone steak, and pot roast. It did save us a lot of money not buying meat at the grocery store in the long run

Our tiny first freezer.

It got to the point where our freezer was overloaded. We decided to buy another freezer. Still our freezer was loaded. It was boxes of boxes. It got to the point that we decided to take the boxes out of the freezer. Before I collapsed the boxes. The only thing we still have frozen T.V. dinners and other some frozen treats in boxes. We don't want the packaging foods get ruin.

Our second freezer. Lowes was impressed with us for buying the camo chest freezer.

I took pictures of the cooking instructions and saved them to my Google picture account and made an album. I remember what food packages are when I was looking for them in the freezer. I think it's better for me to take a picture of each food and put them with the instructions. Although, it would be best for everyone to label them before you put them back in the freezer. That can remind you what they are. Ryan usually organizes our freezer back and forth like tetras. You can organize your freezer any way you like it.

Here’s my example of my freezer food instructions album on Google pictures. It’s pretty helpful to go on my phone and look for the cooking instructions.

Examples of the instructions: "Texas toast, chicken egg rolls, orange chicken, mini egg rolls, bacon breakfast burrito, & chicken tenders.

Just Texas Toast. I forgot what the box looks like.

Instructions of the chicken tenders.

These are a few from our favorite frozen foods and treats list.

Our favorite ice cream:

Ryan likes cookie dough. Mine is strawberry on my top 5 ice cream list.

Our most favorite ice cream is peach crisp from Culver's in Logan, UT.

Our favorite tv dinners are from Boston Market, Hungry Man, Healthy Choice,

Asian food is orange chicken and egg rolls from Sam's Club.

There is a difference in egg rolls and spring rolls in Chinese culture. Egg rolls are giant rolls. Spring rolls are just mini rolls. I did not know, and I was confused. I'm so used to Vietnamese egg rolls from my mother. It's just one size.

I just want to say thank you for reading my blog here. I hope you share with other parents. What will I write next? Not sure yet? -Jen La Wright
