Many Mops Out There

Which Is The Best For Your Buck?

Are These Confusing You?

Are you confused on which is the best mop for you? Let us start with the Cedar system. It is the far picture on the right, the red and grayish looking color. This is almost like the traditional mop that your parents or grandparents used. The pad is reusable and washable. My down fall on this is the wheels on the bucket with the wringer on the bottom. This picture does not show wheels, but the one I tried had wheels. When you step on the peddle the bucket moves causing a fall hazard to anyone, especially individuals with balance problems. I have mild Cerebral Palsy and almost busted my tail while using this mop.

The next one, the blue in color one is a Swiffer Duster. It is good for dust on the floor, but drags actual dirt around. Again, the pad is washable and reusable. I know that sometimes the reusable pads may save money, but you would have to go back after yourself to actually mop with a different mopping method. I know as a mother of two, now teenagers, going over the floor multiple times is time consuming. I can not think I saw the gray one before where I am from. So, I'm going to skip it and the green one for now. I'll come back to the green one later.

The purple one is a Swiffer Wet Jet. The bad points on this one is replacing pads and the special fluid for them. It is a good mop, but you have to sweep the floor with a broom and dust pan first. If you have a bad spot on the floor, you can go over the spot a few times and it disappears. There is also a scrubber on the back side of the mop where the pad goes. There are about four solutions for this time of mopping system. This one also uses batteries, and the batteries in this mop does not last long. I also found out that these mops are EASY to break. The handle will snap showing the cords inside them. I think I have five or six that broke on me. It breaks easier for men. Sorry fellows!

The first one on the left is a Bona system. I used it once and I did not like it. I have small hands and could not keep my hand on the trigger to spray it. Then my hand started cramping. This system has a reusable pad. I kept going over one spot in one of her rooms and the spot never came up. Also, a broom and dust pan before using this because it pushes dirt around too. That means again a two-step process. A lot of people try to avoid a two-step process. Not many people have time for it.

Now, I am going back to the green one. This one I absolutely love. When you are trying to clean every hard floor surfaces in a few minutes, this is the one. It is called the Shark Mop Vac. It does not use batteries, it plugs in to the outlet and it is cordless. I bought mine last year and still using it and has not broke , even after loosing my grip and dropping it. The pad has a wet area for the grime, and also has an area to pick up dirt. I will vacuum a small area, and then mop that area. Then move to another area and repeat until my whole apartment is done. This baby has wonderful mopping power on tough grime and removes it all. You have to buy the pads and solution, but I fell in love with it on day one. Try it!
