Learn How To Solve a Rubik’s Cube In 10 Minutes

My personal experience

If you've never solved a Rubik's Cube before, it might seem very challenging. However, today I'll teach you a method that has helped many people who thought they could never solve it. If anything is unclear along the way, you can check out the example solve linked in the description for more clarity.

First, locate the white center piece and hold it on top. Your initial goal is to create a white cross while ensuring that the colors on the side align with the adjacent centers. Start by finding a white edge piece on the bottom layer (avoid corner pieces, which have three colors). Keep the white center on top and move the white edge piece along the bottom until it is positioned beneath the corresponding center color. Then, turn the face 180 degrees to bring the piece to the top. Repeat this process for all the white edge pieces.

Sometimes, pieces may not align correctly. For example, if the side colors of a piece are swapped, move the piece aside, adjust the top layer, reposition the piece, and then restore the top layer. If an edge piece is in the middle layer, move it down to the bottom layer and solve it as usual.

After completing the white cross and ensuring all side colors match the centers, turn the cube upside down. Next, I'll show you a crucial sequence of four moves that will help with the rest of the solve. Hold the cube with your left thumb on the front, right thumb on the bottom, and fingers on top. Then, perform these moves: turn the right side up, the top layer with your right hand, the right side down, and the top layer with your left hand. Practice this sequence until you can do it quickly, and also learn to do it with your left hand, as it will be useful in different situations.

To fully solve the white side, look for a corner piece with white on it and note its other colors. Find where it should go (between the corresponding centers) and use the four-move sequence to insert it correctly. Do this for all the corners.

For the middle layer, identify an edge piece on the top that doesn't have yellow. Align it with the front center's color, then determine where it needs to go based on the adjacent color. Move the piece away from its destination, use the four-move sequence to remove a corner piece, and then insert the edge piece correctly. Repeat for all edges.

Next, we'll form a yellow cross on the top face. Depending on the initial state (a dot, an L shape, or a horizontal line), use a specific algorithm involving the four-move sequence and front face turns. Once the cross is complete, align the edges with their corresponding centers.

To position the corners correctly, check if each corner is in the right spot, even if not oriented correctly. If not, use an algorithm to place all corners in the correct positions.

Finally, to orient the corners, turn the cube upside down and solve each corner using the four-move sequence. Only rotate the bottom layer to bring new corners into position. Once all corners are oriented correctly, the cube will be solved.
