How to set up the perfect work from home office for less than $100?
More Office for less price...

Since March 2020, I have been transitioning from an in person employment to a virtual online employment. The pandemic has caused thousands of people to start working from home with their children who are doing online learning or virtual school at home. In fact, I am one of thousand, I'm home trying to manage all my work and schooling, while having a sibling who sings in the next room, a dog who snores like its the end of the world in my room, and a mother who talks loudly during her meeting calls. I know what you’re thinking, how do I have the perfect set up if I'm dealing with all of these possible distractions. Well I decided to create a plan that would remove these distractions while also allowing me to have all the necessities of an actual classroom.
To start, I thought location of the office, it had to be a quiet space that had little movement occurring. All I could think was laundry room, basement, porch, and even my bedroom. After process of elimination, I realized only one space could work, my sitting room in my bedroom. It allowed me privacy, freedom from distractions, and had enough space for me to get all my work done correctly. You're probably saying your bedroom, what about everything around you, do you really want your peers seeing your bed and personal items. Well, zoom offers backgrounds of other places such as the beach, a park, and even the ocean. I say it the best thing ever created!
So, I have a location but what about supplies and a desk. Well I ordered a lap desk off of amazon for less than $30.00. The desk was able to hold all stationery supplies, my phone and my computer. In addition, it allowed me to pop open and close my desk within five seconds. It almost resembled closing time as if work is done for the day. Plus there was a cute mouse pad attached for a bonus! When it came to stationery, I legitimately went to Walmart and bought every school supply, I could think of. That included notebooks, pens, pencils, scissors, tape, staples for my stapler, hole puncher, staple remover, and even a stack of post it notes. At the end of the shopping trip, I only spend $40.00 on everything. All this allowed me to be prepared for anything when it came to a professor saying "these are school supplies you must need for this class".

After collecting school supplies, I put everything together like a puzzle. Today, I am attending meetings and classes virtually from the beach in Cabo. I am never running out of stationery or in the "I don't have a writing utensil mindset". I have a desk that provides me flexibility but also can be used anywhere at anytime. In fact, I used my desk when sitting on my sofa, upstairs in my room, and even when I was at my grandma's house.

To close, I would like to share that your office set up doesn't need to be hundreds of dollars or hiring an interior designer to create the perfect home office. Instead, you can use basic locations for an office and buy stationery at a cheap price, which will give you the perfect home set up for less. My home set up only costs me $70.00 in the end. Not only did I get a home office that fits me and prevents distractions, I got a home office for the lowest price ever. So I ask you my readers, how did you build your home office set up? Have any of you built a home office set up for a lower price than $70.00?
